Chapter 3: Frozen Yogurt Date

•Maddie's Pov•
I'm so nervous for my date with Asher, I hope I don't mess this up.
Taylor helps me pick out an outfit to where, it's not over the top, it's just a little fancy as she tells me.
I get changed and just brush a comb through my hair and let it sit out naturally. I put on sandals as I wait for mom to take me.
"Mom!" I call out, ready to leave.
"Lemme grab the keys, Mads" she yells from upstairs.
Taylor and I make our way to the car and hop in as mom unlocks it.
i buckle up and sigh of relief, so far so good.
we arrive at the mall and head to the froyo place. my mom parks the car and tells me that she and Taylor are gonna watch a movie while i'm on my date. i nod my head as they drop me of at the froyo store and head to the cinema.
i patiently wait, where could he be?
maybe asher stood me up? although he doesn't seem like that, it's the most likely reason he isn't here.
i sigh, he isn't coming.
i look down as i kick a pebble around.
"hey, sorry i'm late!" he says out of breath.
"i thought you weren't coming" i say surprised.
"no, never" he says with a small laugh as we head inside.
"what would you like?" he turns his head to me.
i look at the menu
"uh..whatever you're having"
he nods and gets in line as i wait at our table.
he sits down and hands me my ice cream
"hope you like mint chocolate"
i nodded as i slowly began eating.
"So.." he says, breaking the ice.
"Tell me about yourself" I say.
"My middle name is john, I'm seventeen, i love football, my best friends name is max grazer, i have two younger siblings and i love girls with the name Madison"
"wow, very interesting" i blush.
"well, my middle name is grace, i'm sixteen and have a little sister named Taylor"
he nodded "too bad you don't have a thing for guys who have the name asher"
"maybe it's a secret" i say, with a playful smirk.
"okay" he chuckles as we continue eating.
we talk some more and learn new things about each other.
"thanks for coming" he says as we walk outside.
"thanks for inviting me" i say with a small smile.
"anytime, see you at school tomorrow. bye maddie!" he waves as he drives off in his car.
"bye ash" i say with a giggle as i call my mom and tell her that I'm ready to go home.
Taylor, my mom and i head to the car and drive home. i get changed into my pyjamas and get into bed and slowly drift off to sleep.
