Chapter 7: Be Mine

•Maddie's Pov•
I look up at Asher and smile.
He stands up and comes to my side of the booth and goes on one knee.
I gasp, shocked and teary-eyed.
He holds a ring, looking up at me.
"Madison" he says smiling, but also nervous.
He clears his throat.
"Madison Grace Greene, would you do me a favour and become mine? Not that you already weren't, but now we can be official. This is a promise ring, to promise we will always love each other and support each other through everything"
I nod, crying softly.
"Of course, Asher"
He slips the ring on my finger.
I pull him up and smile, wrapping my arms around Asher's neck.
I look at him, as he looks at me.
I nod, signalling him that it's okay.
He smashes his lips against mine, we passionately kiss as he swirls his tongue inside of my mouth.
I break the kiss and look at him.
"I love you" i say softly.
"and i love you" he smiles as i lay my head in his chest, i felt safe.
We left the store and drove back to my place, where we were greeted by my mom.
"Hey mom. This is Asher, my boyfriend" I smile softly as I hold his hand.
"Nice to meet you, Mrs Greene" he says, shaking her hand.
"Aw, call me Lauren. Aren't you a gentleman?" She laughs as we go and sit on the couch.
"I'm going to pick Taylor up, I'll be back soon. Are you guys alright being home alone?" My mom asks.
"Don't worry Lauren, I'll protect Maddie"
She waves goodbye and leaves.
I turn on Netflix and put on 'the notebook'.
I lay my head on Asher's shoulder as we watch the movie.
I hear a car pull up in the garage, must be mom and Taylor. i snuggle my head into asher's chest and lay there quietly.
"They might be sleeping. So be quiet Taylor" my mom whispers.
"Okay" she walks over to me.
"No, Maddie's awake but he's sleeping" Taylor said, smiling at me.
"I can't thank you enough Taylor. Thank you for replying back to Asher's message otherwise we wouldn't be together without you. I love you" I smile and kiss her forehead.
"I love you more, Mads" she hugs me tightly, i wrap one arm around her and pat her back gently.
i stand up to go get a drink but asher's strong arms pull me back into his lap.
"no, don't leave me" he softly said, fluttering his eyes open.
"i'm thirsty" i frown.
"okay, sorry" he says, letting me out of his grip.
i walk over to the fridge and grab some lemonade.
i grab a glass and pour it in, grabbing three ice cubes and dropping them in the cup. the lemonade began to fizz, causing bubbles to flow through the icey cold drink.
i take a sip, the bubbles bubbling on my lips, i take another sip, savouring the flavour.
i finish off my glass and place it on the kitchen counter.
"babe, it's 6:30pm. do you wanna head home?" i ask softly, rubbing my fingers through his brown, wavy hair.
"mom says he can stay for dinner, if he'd like" Taylor shouts as i look at asher.
"i'd love to stay" he smiles softly.
"tay, please tell mom asher's staying for dinner" i smile.
"okay, mads" she smiles and goes to talk to my mom.
"Maddie, please help me set the table!" my mom calls out.
"asher, honey could you please go grab Taylor upstairs" my mom asks him.
"sure thing, Lauren"
asher goes upstairs and my mom looks at me.
"he's a sweet boy, he is welcome to stay anytime" my mom smiles.
"thanks mom" i smile as we set the table and place everyone's plates down.
i hear giggles and squeals coming from the top of the stairs.
"put me downnnnn" Taylor says, giggling.
i look at asher and raise an eyebrow.
"what? your mom said to grab her" he playfully smirks as my mom and i laugh.
asher puts Taylor down and we all sit down to eat.
i sit down beside asher and smile at him.
we all begin eating.
as i'm eating asher places his hand on my thigh, i look at him and smile as he smiles back.
"Maddie, it's your day to do the dishes"
"k, mom" i say, as i finish eating.
"and for you missy, it's bed time" my mom says, looking at Taylor.
"say goodbye to your sister and asher"
"bye maddie, asher" my sister smiles, hugging us both.
"goodnight, i love you" i smile and kiss her forehead.
"bye taybug" asher says softly and kisses her cheek.
aw he's so sweet to taylor.
my mom takes Taylor, upstairs leaving me and asher alone.
i stand up and collect everyone's plates, and start rinsing them.
i feel asher's presence behind me.
he puts his arms around my waist as he starts to sway side to side.
he kisses my cheek and places his hands on top of mine as i scrub the plates clean.
we finish washing up and go sit on the couch.
"come here, baby" asher says softly, opening his arms.
i walk into his arms and sit in his lap, facing him.
he smiles and chuckles "you know i love you, right?"
i blush "more than you know"
asher softly places a kiss on my lips, but i pull away and look down.
"hey, you okay?" he softly asks and lifts my chin up with one finger.
i sigh, "i just feel bad about ruining your friendship with Max"
"listen to me, mads" he whispers soothingly.
"you didn't ruin anything, okay? it was my decision and i don't regret it at all. all i need is you and nothing else"
a small smile appears on my lips, as i gently kiss asher.
"hey honey, i'm going to bed. head to bed whenever you're ready" my mom smiles and leaves.
"just me and you" i smile gently.
"anything special you wanna do?" asher says with a playful smirk.
i playfully hit asher softly with a pillow
"you dirty, dirty boy" i smile.
"heyyy! i'm your dirty, dirty boy" he says laughing.
"that's right" i say laughing.
"hey, babe can you hop off for a sec"
"sure" i smile as asher stands up and slowly takes his shirt off.
I smile and look at asher's abs.
"here, wear this" asher says, tossing me his shirt.
i catch it and take my own shirt off.
asher began tickling me as i fell onto the couch.
"asher, i'm in my bra" i say laughing.
"don't worry, i don't mind" he says laughing as i shrug my shoulders.
i lay my head on asher's shoulder and fall asleep.
