The song is not by LANY this time, but by LAUV haha but you can see the resemblance of the theme and even their style. I recommend you listen to it while you read the last part 😉
Pt. 3 - Never Not
Has anyone every felt being hit by a speeding train? Or being punched in the gut?
That's how it is seeing her emerge from that car.
Her long hair seemed to dance with the wind.
Her features developed a subtle elegance. Gone is the innocent Shen Yue.
What's in front of him now, is a woman.
And he missed her. So much, that he is hanging by a thread from running to her and just forget everything that has happened.
Is this how a year could do? But it seems like it's just yesterday. Because his feelings never once changed.
His eyes roamed on her more, drinking all of her in one intense gaze.
She must have felt it when she turned to look at him.
He noticed the initial shock then replaced by something else he couldn't lay a finger on, was it sadness? Regret?
Longing?
He shook his head. Why would she? She's the one who left him.
A part of him understood her reason. Hao Ge told him about his phone call with Yue that night. He even punched his friend for telling her those things.
But she decided to leave nonetheless; despite coming back to her the night before her flight to Japan, begging to take him back.
Despite all the missed calls he made to her.
Despite the messages on all of her social media accounts.
Pleading. Promising. Bargaining. That he will be better. He's willing to endure the distance as long as they were still together.
He snapped back to reality when he noticed her coming towards him. With her big brown eyes fixed on his, he felt his resolve wavering.
He brushed off his thoughts and faced her.
"Didi..." she greeted him awkwardly.
"Shen Yue" he said, acknowledging her.
Noticing that he didn't say anything else, she spoke again.
"How are you?"
"Fantastic" his voice laced with sarcasm.
She was taken aback by the coldness of his response.
Who could blame him?
She gave an uneasy smile.
"Oh...good then... uhh... by the way, I would like you to meet Kenji-san."
His eyebrows furrowed upon seeing the guy she's with took a place beside her.
"Nice to meet you, I'm Kenji, Yue's agent in Japan..." he trailed a bit looking at Yue with inquiry.
Yue shook her head.
Didi raised an eyebrow.
"Wang He Di" shaking Kenji-san's hand, he firmed his grasp and looked straight into his eyes.
Motherf*cker, hope you're ready for a bloodbath. I will kick you back to Japan for all I care.
Xi Ze who was talking to someone else when Yue and Kenji arrived, sensed the growing tension. He saw Didi's eyes. He has never seen him in such cold expression.
