Finally, it was Christmas. After having traveled to so many places for premieres and interviews, Audrey had finished promoting her film. Now she just had to wait for the public's response, considering that the movie was being released on Christmas Day, and relax.
She had decided to bring Gwilym along for her trip to her parents vacation home in the English Countryside. He was more than happy to come with her.
To his surprise, Gwilym wasn't nervous. He had already met Audrey's parents several times and he had even spent a few holidays at their vacation home during their time in college.
Actually, the first time he met Audrey's parents they had thought that he was her boyfriend. The encounter had been very awkward, to say the least. But it was as if Gwilym was coming full circle, now coming back as her actual boyfriend.
It had been such a relief for Audrey to not have to introduce Gwilym to her parents and it was even better that they absolutely adored him.
"Still a gentleman, I see. And handsome too," her mother had told her, Audrey laughing awkwardly.
"Where did everyone go?" Gwilym spoke as hr walked down the stairs into the living room, donning the same pair of Christmas pajamas every other male in the family gathering was wearing.
"They're out playing in the snow," Audrey stated from the sofa, pointing at a few silhouettes in the white landscape through the window. The colors on their winter coats seemed even more vibrant in contrast with the white snow.
"And why aren't you out there with them?" Gwilym asked as he sat down next to Audrey, wrapping his arm around her shoulder.
"Because I was waiting for you," Audrey smiled, raising herself up to give him a quick kiss on the lips. "Also, because I wanted to talk to you about something. I've been meaning to do so for some time now."
Gwilym's eyebrows furrowed in confusion as he stared at Audrey intently. "Is this what you wanted tell me when I found about the Golden Globe nominations?"
