hello {part 1}
Aaron brushed the tips of his fingers across the different leather-bounded books on the shelves, one by one, trying to find another intersting book to read. It felt as if he had already read everything interesting in his school library, he needed new books. new stories and new adventures to fill up his imagination and make his mind race with excitement.
His dark eyes scanned through the many books in an instant, recognizing all the various books he had already gone through for the past 3 years. It was his last year here in Maple Oak, and he was determind to finish every interesting book in this library, no matter the genre.
Sighing and letting a huge breath he didn't know he was holding out, he sat down on the carpeted-floor, running his fingers through his hair frustratingly. He found nothing interesting here anymore, and it suck, 'cause that was the only thing that could take the pressure of studying out of him.
Aaron took out his emergency package of Oreos and started to open it up. No matter where he went, he always had Oreos. People found that weird and childish of him, but frankly he didn't care that much.
"Dude," A high-pitched girl's voice called Aaron back to reality. His fingers stopped mid-way through opening the package. He looked around, trying to find where the voice had come from.
"Up here, idiot," The girl hissed, trying to keep her voice as quiet as possible since this was a library.
Aaron tilted his head up, and on the top of one of the wooden shelves he was near, laid a girl, with dark hair and a smile plastered on her face.
"Finally, hey, no eating in the library," She warned, putting on a motherly-toned voice.
He scoffed, "And? I don't really care about what you say."
The girl made an annoyed grunting noise. "Listen, I don't think you should disobey me."
"And why is that?" He asked, raising his dark eyebrows in interest. Finally, something interesting in this place called hell.
She sat upright, getting ready to jump off the shelf, but instead of doing it normally, she started to float and her feet touched the ground gracefully instead of a harsh touchdown. Aaron's eyes widened, Am I asleep,or am I asleep? he questioned himself.
The girl placed both her arms on either side of her hips and smirked. "How was that? I don't know why you can see me, but you can." She explained, the smile on her face growing wider and wider and the twinkle in her eyes glistened. "Don't underestimate me, Aaron," She countered confidently, poking his chest with her index finger.
Then everything seemed to paused for awhile, as both of them started to let what the girl had said sink into their minds and process into actual thoughts.
"How do you know my name?!" Aaron shouted, stumbling backwards and hitting his back against the hard wooden linings of the shelf. His fingers started trembling and his eyes were filled with fear as he watched the girl's confident look turn to one of confusion.
She opened her mouth to speak, but nothing seemed to come out, so she closed it. Furrowing her eyebrows, she started to walk towards Aaron and placed her hands on his shoulders to pull him closer. She examined every inch of his face. Why did she know his name? She, herself, did not know the answer to that.
"Uh...?" Aaron mumbled, indicating that her face was too close to his. The girl snapped back from her deep thoughts and inched away from him, rubbing her chin, in thought.
"You can see me..." She muttered under her breath, just loud enough for Aaron to hear.
"What are you?" He inquired, getting more and more interested in this mysterious girl.
"It's complicated," She replied, bluntly, her calm tone just now turning into a harsh one. Looks like it's not a good topic for her...
"At least, explain the whole 'You can see me!' thing, " He rolled his eyes, getting up from the floor, not forgetting to imitate a girly voice when he said that.
"Well--" The girl started, but was cut off immediately by another person.
"Aaron.." Hanna whispered, her face filled with horror and a hint of confusion. "Who are you talking to..?" She asked, her voice trailing off slowly at the end.
Aaron gestured to where the girl was standing. "Her..." And that's when he realized what the girl meant when she said 'you can see me' and how that she could float...
