So like after five weeks I decided that you guys have been so great with reads and stuff, I just decided to update a chapter.
Apologies if the grammar is horrible and the spelling just kills you. At least there's a chapter.
I woke to the warmth of the sunlight which had begun it's awakening, sending the stars running to the west where they were comforted by the receding darkness.
I grasped the blanket for where he slept last night, coming up with a few grass blades which had grown while I slept. The sleepy euphoric atmosphere quickly ceased when I realised he had disappeared, a stab of fear pierced my stomach. Where had he gone? Was he hurt?
My hand brushed a piece of paper with my name with Zephyr's sloppy cursive printed on it.
Spirit,
Sorry I left quickly, I got a call for a possible sighting, don't worry.
You can ditch the blanket except for your pack which I made sure you had before I left.
Sorry about leaving so quickly.
Love you,
Z
P. S. we might not be in close enough range to communicate telepathically.
P. P. S. We are all in Brisbane
P. P. P. S. Take care of yourself
P. P. P. P. S. I don't know why I added this line.
P. P. P. P. P. S. Make sure you get there before sunset or I'll freak.
I sighed, checking for any more P.Ss, after making sure there were no extra notes on the page I turned my focus to a more pressing matter; how I was going to get to Brisbane.
There was the option of teleporting but I quickly pushed it out of my mind, I didn't even know how to properly teleport, that moment of fear and desperation had spurred something inside of me, for that moment which had allowed me to bend the fabric of time and space. I knew the ability was in me, even though I didn't want to admit it I was fearful of testing the ability, maybe I would accidentally leave something behind important like some skin or my ear.
Well your not going to walk to Brisbane are you? A voice in my head snarled, but I granted the reasoning.
No. But... I tried, searching for a response to contradict the problem.
Cars.
The transportation system entered my head, maybe there were still some working, despite being out of date for a long time.
I wandered towards the remains of the civilisation, Byron Bay. It was one of the many cites we hadn't bothered to level, common sense told us that natural nature would win eventually. Only the larger cities would be a problem, with leaking their large amounts of pollution into the air from the remains of their factories.
I quickly found the Main Street of the town and picked a sturdy-looking car that looked like it could take on the ride to Brisbane. Crossing my fingers that this would work, I slid inside and dusted off the seat which was in the process of crumbling to nothing.
The key was already in the ignition which surprised me, which I dismissed as luck and started up the car which gave a few half-hearted wheezes and then died down again.
"Dammit!" I cried and slapped the wheel, a few sparks of energy came off my hand when it touched the wheel and the rough draft of an idea came to mind.
