Chapter 7

Draco's POV
Secret Talent

"You look cute today." I blurt out. I bit my lip. "I'm sorry that was so sudden." I sigh. "No it's fine." He closes his book. "How long were you standing there when that girl came over?"

"Long enough." I continue "Thank you for shrugging her off. I know we aren't together but you're my mate and seeing you with someone else would be miserable."

Harry's POV

He looks at me and sighs. I stand and wrap my arms around him. At first, he hesitates but then wraps his arms around my waist.

I lay my head on his shoulder. "I understand," I say. I hear Draco inhale my scent.

"Thank you. I know we've been enemies for a while but you just straight up forgiving me was not what I was expecting." Draco says.

I pull away and smile up at him. He grabs my hand and helps me put up my books.

We walk together to the Great Hall, we talk about weird things. We stop at the doors of the Great Hall. "You go in first then I'll go in," Draco says.

I nod my head, straighten my robes and hair, and walk into the Great Hall.
I sit by Hermione and Ron.

"Hello Harry. I haven't seen you all day. Where have you been?" Hermione asks. "I was in my library." I wink at her as if to tell her that I was with Draco.

He nods small so that Ron won't see. I pile my plate full of food and start eating.

I sit there and think about the first task and what Draco is going to do if someone or something hurts me.

Stop overthinking things Harry. Who cares about me. Just try for me.

Draco's voice pops into my head. I jump at the suddenness of his voice. I look over at the Slytherin table and we make eye contact.

How did he do that?

Some I might have forgotten to mention.

I look over at him and glare cold and hard. He smiles innocently at me. I scold him and look away.

You need to stop reading my thoughts.

I eat my food a paper owl fly's over and lands in front of me. I unfold it and read it.

Stop ignoring me.

Because you weren't answering me so I improvised.

I scoff at him from across the room. I finish and stand. "I'm off." I leave the Great Hall in a rush. I head to Dumbledore's office and say the password.

I go up the spiral staircase and knock on his office door. "Come in Harry." I open the door and Dumbledore is sitting at his desk.

I walk in and close the door. "Hello professor. I came to talk about the tournament." He motions for next to take a seat.

I sit down and start to speak "Is there any way I can out of being a champion. Please profes-." He cuts me off.

"How are you and Draco?" He smiles at me. "Me and huh? Wait professor I came in here to talk about the tournament not Draco and me."

He smiles at me. "I'm sorry Harry there is no way you can get out of the tournament. I've tried everything. Trust me I have. Nothing."

I nod and stand. "Where are you going? You haven't answered my question yet." He says.

"Draco and I are fine. Thank you." I walk out of his office.

How'd the meeting with Dumbledore go?

How many times do I have to tell you to stop doing that?

I can practically hear you whiney from where you are.

Don't block me out young mister. I appreciate you trying to get out of the tournament for me.

I just want to keep us safe from harm but being the 'Chosen One' it's kind of hard.

I laugh at him and go to my dormitory. I flop on my bed and sigh

We've spent so much time together I forgot about the 1st task. I need to find out what it is.
