Chapter 3: The forest

The next morning Nogard wakes up and sees that Erif is gone. He looks around and starts to panic "ERIF" he hears a voice "up here" he walks outside the temple and sees Erif on top of one of the pillars. "What are you doing up there"
he looks down at him "waiting"
"Waiting for what"
"For my mom" Nogard quickly changes the subject "you should come down"
Erif doesn't move. Nogard walks sits next to the pillar and asked "how did you get up there"
He doesn't say anything. Nogard gets up "I'm going to go get water" He stays quiet. Nogard flies away and comes back with water. He sees Erif still on the pillar. "Got water"
Erif jumps down and drinks the water. A minute later he climbs back up and waits. Nogard walks up beside him and sits down. He takes a second to think and says "she is not..." he stops himself. "...you...shouldn't stare at the sun like that" Erif looks at him "Why,it doesn't hurt" Nogard gets confused "it doesn't"
"No, I used to do this all the time"
"And your not blind" Nogard asked
"Nope"
Four days pass and Erif never left the pillar. One day while He was waiting a little wolf walks up to him. "What are u doing"
He looks down "waiting"
"You were up there for four days"
"I know I'm just waiting for my mom"
the wolf looks around "how did you get up there" Erif doesn't answer. Minutes passed and the sun was about to go down. The wolf walks next to the pillar "I don't think she's coming back"
Erif looks down "yes she is" he jumps down and sits next to the wolf. "She said she was"
"maybe she got lost on her way back like my dad did"
Erif looks towards the direction of the forest. "Maybe I can go and find her"
He walks off the temple and onto the sand. The wolf stops him "when you get there ask her about my dad".
"Ok" Right when he was about to move Nogard slams his tail in front of him. "NO ONE  IS LEAVING" Erif looks up at him with his eyes wide and ears down, terrified "I'm sorry. I just wanted to go and find my mom"
Nogard eyes turns red "you're staying here"
The wolf slowly walks in front of Erif "so we can't leave at all"
Nogard slides his tail quickly across the ground leaving a wall of fire. "It's too dangerous for both of you" After Nogard walked back into the the temple Erif says to himself "I'm going tonight" the wolf looks at him "how are you going to leave" Erif smiles and jumps back on the concrete floor of the temple "While waiting I found out every midnight he leaves to the mountains"
"Yeah but there is a massive wall of fire" says the wolf confused
Erif ran in the temple excited and came out with a bucket of water. "Leave this here and tonight I'll make my way through" they both go back inside and waited. At midnight Nogard gets up and leaves the temple. After he flew away Erif gets up and runs out. When he got to the fire he pushed the bucket of water onto it. He gets amazing as he watched the whole wall fade away. He walks through and the Wolf stops him. "While you are there can you find my dad too"
"Sure" he starts running towards the forest. A few minutes passed when he saw a light in the distance. Across the the desert he sees fire. Afraid that it was Nogard he gets low and watches it. It slowly moves and then stopped. It doesn't move for a long time so Erif slowly walks whole keeping his eyes on it. Out of nowhere he hears a loud high pitch scream then the fire starts moving closer towards him. He starts walking faster, then the fire starts moving faster too. Scared Erif gets up and starts running not looking back. When he got to the forest he looks back and sees nothing.  He turns and starts walking through the forest while walking he sees two glowing green eyes. Paranoid he hides in a bush next to him. The eyes moved behind another bush. Erif starts to panic and as he was about to sneak away he felt something drop on his head. He looks up and sees a wolf hanged in the tree above him cut opened. He runs out of the bushes and through the forest. As he ran, he hears the High pitch scream behind him getting closer. He turns and sees a dark smoke quickly moving away. He followed it with his eyes as he ran and it stops in front of him. Erif tried to turn but slips. He looks up and sees a shadowy figure in front of him smiling. "GET AWAY FROM ME" he yells. the figure does nothing but stares at him. The eyes glowed green and Erif back up. As he moves backwards he bumps into something. He turns and sees his mom laying on the ground ripped opened. Erif froze and the figure picks him up. It takes out a large knife and cuts His foot. He cries out help and then hears a voice "DROP HIM YOU POSSESSED FREAK" the figure throws Erif down and looks up. A bird flies down and slices the figures neck with a metal wing. It fades away and the bird land in front of Erif who was terrified and shaking. The bird sees the mom and looks at Erif "I don't think you can walk, can you?" He flies away and comes back with a leaf and covers Erif's eyes. Erif still shaking, says over and over "she's dead" the bird flew away and came back with a basket made of sticks. He pushes Erif in it, grabs the handle in his beak and flies away. He stops in a big massive tree and slowly pushes Erif on a pile of leaves. Erif had his eyes wide open breathing fast. The bird sat and waited till morning. While waiting he noticed Erif changed from saying she's dead to "the eyes". over night he hears him say this still shaking until he fell asleep.
