Pandas live in the Eastern Edge of west China in the tops of the bamboo forests. They live there because there is the most food where they are and because of people making farms, it pushed them farther and farther up on the mountain, making them migrate from where they used to live all over, but because of the farms they ended up clumped in the top of the South East region of China in the top of the bamboo forests. They eat bamboo for 14 to 16 hours a day to live, or else they'll die of starvation because they have to eat 20 to 40 pounds a day. The names of the bamboo forests they live in are the Sichuan, Shaanxi, and Gansu provinces. Because of all the pandas moving there, it was nicknamed the "Home of Giant Pandas." But, because there were so many pandas, and only so much food, they kept dying until there was only one thousand left, and there was enough food. Because of this sudden drop in the 1980s, they were considered an endangered species and couldn't be hunted. So they slowly started going up, and, people started to make panda reserves, so their number went up faster. Because of this, from 1980 to 2019, they have grown to almost 2,000 pandas left living. This number is still going up, so, if you want to make it grow faster, please donate to the World Wildlife Fund to help them and other endangered animals.
