(Emma is about to start highschool as a freshman in LA)
•emma POV•

I have never woken up this early this before. Is school even worth it? It must be doing something because I still haven't dropped out yet and that's a whole miracle. But I hate my school. James and I are the only people from our middle school that's going to this hellhole of a highschool. I walked  to his house, ate, and changed out of  my joggers, and started on my hair. Once I finished, James did my makeup and I looked not so dead. Him and I had most of our classes together, accept I had woodshop and he had choir. I'm still confused that the school is letting us use sharp things. I can't wait:)) Once we get to first period, I'm already ready to leave. The teachers are ancient! In science when we talk about dinosaurs, my teacher might remember what they look like!!
{Time skip to math class}
Okay so the bad thing about this school is they use tables, not desks. So James and I are stuck sitting with people we don't know. Luckily, there's two cute twins who happen to sit next to us. Their names are Ethan and Grayson, and they knew about everyone at this school, so they sat with us. They both play football and that's all they could talk about! And apparently, our school is known for it's cheer/football duo. "Only the pretty girls make varsity, so you better try out", Ethan says. I'm not exactly eye candy or anything so I just laugh and shake my head. Then I feel my phone vibrate in my back pocket. What now?
James: I call Grayson
Emma: wtf?
James: he's the cuter twin lol
Emma: u sure? Ethan's better:)
James: lies!
We go back to talking with the boys when we get annoyed by this girl who looks like she came straight out of a bad- lit Sephora. Yikes! "OMG Ethan! You got *so* hot over the break!" Grayson is acting all offended, James is giving her the death glare, and I'm trying not to laugh! Who does this girl think she is? She actually sounds like a dying turkey. "Umm hey Jenna. Good to see you?" Okay, I laughed at that. I'm not mean or anything, but that was funny. He looked so uncomfortable, it was hilarious!
{Haha here's another time skip to 7th period gym}
While I'm not a professional or anything, I'm pretty good at cheer. I've got my roudoff BHS one and a half, and I've done competition cheer since the third grade. The cheer coach this year is our gym teacher, Mrs. Melissa. She seems nice and very well put together. She said that right after school today were cheer tryouts and that she's very excited for this year's team. !ding! !ding! I feel a little nervous, but then I remembered that it's only high school cheer. I got this... right? Once I get my number, I hear this annoying, cringy, dying turkey voice. Jenna...
