The Last Time

Chapter 1

•• Before you think this is going to be a cliché romance, it's not. I haven't been on Wattpad in 4 years, but I'm back to tell my story about the boy that changed my life and repeatedly broke my heart:) ••

I woke up to the sun shining bright into my eyes, sadly I was not a morning person. I dragged myself out of bed, or well the couch as I was sleeping on. As I'm making my way over to the kitchen I look at the sleeping puppy on the other couch, 'look how peaceful Blossom's being for once' . Which was actually a surprised considering this whole summer she's made my life a living hell. I've had to replace over 30 pairs of underwear and 4 pairs of shoes.

I opened a kitchen cupboard to reveal a box of Rice Crispies, Corn Pops, and Cinnamon Toast Crunch. I shut the cupboard reminding myself I wasn't that hungry, especially not in the mornings. I heard moving around in the next room and sure enough, the bedroom door down the hall opened up and my sister emerged. "Good morning Isabel, I'm leaving today. I'm being picked up at 2 pm." I smiled at her. She looked at the calendar and spoke, "August 28th, yeah Mom said you have to be back in time to meet with your new school to discuss your schedule." I looked down and sighed, knowing that my summer vacation was over and that I would soon have to see my mother.

|| Later that night ||

The trees were passing quickly before my eyes.I turned down the radio and looked over to my best friend Michael, who was driving me to my new town, Tampers Cove. I had never even heard of the place. In June my mother decided to move me her and my brother away and in with her new boyfriend and his family. Great.
"You better not find a new best friend, while I'm gone. As soon as I have my things in order and my money sorted, I'll be back don't worry" I told him as I gave him a heartwarming smile.
I was mostly scared of losing touch with all the people I was close to, but I was more scared of being forgotten. "Your irreplaceable Lena, don't be nervous you got this. People are gonna love you. This is a good chance for you and your mom to get back to normal don't you think?" I thought about his words, but I didn't know what words were right instead I just squeezed his hand and look back out the window.

We must've been driving for what seemed like hours but finally we came across my new town. Not that far from the city, to go shopping. We drove around the town for a bit, taking in my new home. Then we finally arrived at my new house, it was much bigger then I expected. Living with only my mom and my brother I've been used to small cozy apartments. But I guess with her boyfriend and his kids, we needed and could afford a much bigger house. As we pulled into the driveway I said my goodbyes to Michael and gathered my 2 bags. There were no cars in the driveway so I assumed nobody was home, the door was unlocked so I made my way inside. My mother had mentioned to me that my room was in the basement, so I went down the stairs and went into my new room.

I knew it was mine because aside from the other room in the basement it was the only one with packed boxes. 'Great I've gotta make my room actually presentable.' I put my bags on the end on my bed and started unpacking the boxes. I came across a small box and inside were my room decorations, but this room was much smaller then the one in my old apartment. I began running beaded lights around my walls and put up some of my pictures. I organized my makeup onto my vanity and set up my tv. I put my books on my shelves and continued to unpack.

After over an hour later I had finally finished unpacking. I walked upstairs and suddenly heard a bunch of thumping around, investigating I walked down the hallway and turned into the kitchen. There were 2 kids, very weird looking kids. A boy and a girl, both looking of a young age. "Hello, Is my mom here?" I smiled. The girl looked at me and opened her mouth the respond, but before she could the front door opened and closed and my mother emerged into the kitchen followed by a short chubby looking man with a very large beard. My mother was excited to see me, she immediately ran up to me and squeezed me into a tight hug.

"How was your summer baby girl? You haven't called." She gave me a small smile and awaited my response. 'How could she be acting like this after everything that happened before they left? What's her problem.'
I looked at my mother and said, "When do I have to go meet with the school." At first she held her smile but it quickly dropped. "Tomorrow morning." I nodded and walked past her to the basement. I noticed my brother getting home, and I decided I needed the wifi password and he would know it. "Justin, can you write the wifi password in my phone?" This is the first time I've talked to my brother since they left to come here. He walked over to me and grabbed my phone, "Of course Lena. I hope you had a good summer." I smiled at my brother. "I did, I hope your summer was good. Isabel says hi, she tried calling you a few times you never got back to her." He didn't say anything, he gave me my phone back and turned away walking to the kitchen. I looked down at my phone which he connected to wifi. "Thanks."

|| Next Morning ||

I sat in a small office, located in my new school. Surrounded by 3 members of the staff, a man and 2 women. They discussed my class schedule and I just sat there being quiet. After a while of talking they finally figured it out and I was allowed to leave. A lady handed me a piece of paper, it read; 'Period 1~ Drama, Period 2~ Careers, Period 3~ History, Period 4~ Science.'
