Evan couldn’t stop crying..He couldn’t believe it...Connor had gone and killed himself..Even after Evan told him not to..They thought they were soulmates but Evan had noticed that a few weeks before Connor’s death, Connor became distant and more...Angry.
He had gone back to smoking weed even after Evan had gotten him to stop.
Connor had even lashed out and hit Evan when he was high..But he apologized and gave Evan so much love...That was the last time Evan would ever get love from Connor though..

“C-Connor..?”
“What?”

“A-Are you ok?”
“Yup.  Just fan-fucking-tastic.”
“You..You don’t sound it.”
Connor leaned down and blew the smoke from his blunt in Evan’s face, knowing how much he hated the smell, “I’m fine, babe.”
Evan started to cough and cringe at the smell, tears welling up in his eyes, “O-Ok..”
That wasn’t even the worst in their relationship...the worst had happened only days before Connor died.

Evan and Connor got in each other’s faces as they yelled at one another.

“It’s not like you love me anyways!  You don’t even call me by my special nickname anymore!” Evan screamed at the taller male.
“Maybe I don’t love you dipshit!  How could I love you after all! You’re nothing but a fucking stupid bitch!” The tall (and slightly high) male took a step towards Evan and backed the tree loving boy into a corner.
Evan had tears in his eyes, “Then why are you still around?!  You must be with me for some reason!”
“Maybe it’s just to use you and see how you act,” another step towards Evan, “Maybe it’s just to use you as a toy!”
Evan started crying, still angry, “Then get out!  Leave!”

And he did.  Connor did leave.  For two days. Then he returned.  But when he walked in, he saw something and he saw it wrong.

Jared was hugging Evan and Evan, unbeknownst to Connor, was sobbing.

Connor was instantly engulfed with rage.  He rushed over to Jared, tore him off of Evan and pushed him towards the door.

“Connor...I-I can expla-”

Connor whipped around to face Evan and bright his hand around with him, hitting Evan hard enough to send him to the ground.

Evan started crying harder after the silence that followed the sickening sound of skin on skin.

Connor almost instantly regretted it, grabbing Evan and hugging him, muttering I'm sorry over and over to the smaller, sobbing man.

Evan wiped his face, looking down at the razor he held in his hand, poised just above his wrist.

That's when he finally registered the banging on the door.

Evan quickly hid the razor as his friend, Jared Kleinman, bursted in.

Jared saw how shakey the boy was and ran over to him.
“He didn’t deserve you.  The way he treated you was unacceptable.  We all miss him, but, personally, I’m glad he’ll never lay another hand on you.”
Evan latched onto Jared and let himself sob.  He sobbed for hours before he fell asleep, safe and warm in Jared’s arms.

And that’s what Evan continued to do.  He continued to let himself fall asleep in Jared Kleinman’s arms for the following years.
He let himself do it until they both died.
