With a surge of anger, I pressed my blade against the delicate neck cables of the Decepticon I loathed above. "Say it again, Starscream" I hissed, my voice dripping with venom, "and I'll slice through every last of your miserable cables." I bore down the blade even further to emphasize it, watching the Decepticon squirm beneath the unforgiving edge of my sword. As a former gladiator, I had earned a reputation that struck fear into the sparks of both Decepticons and Autobots.
Starscream grunted as I tightened my hold on him. Despite his attempts to break free, I wasn't about to release him. "(Y/N)..." A voice suddenly interrupted. I tensed. Recognizing the voice as Soundwave's, I shot him a narrowed-eyed glance. "Let him go... he's not worth it," Soundwave's words were tinged with irritation while he waved an idle servo. I groaned, exasperated, my blade pressing firmly against Starscream's neck cables. How much trouble would I be in if I cut his helm off? He'd make a fine decoration next to all my other trophies.
"(Y/n)."
I heeded Soundwave's advice for once. With a frustrated sigh, I smashed Starscream's helm against the wall before finally releasing my grip. The second in command slumped and let out a string of colorful curses that were not worth repeating.
I watched Soundwave, his intense gaze lingering on me briefly before he broke the silence. "If you value your existence, I strongly advise that you cease your interference with (y/n), Starscream," he barked, his tone as sharp as my sword. With that, Soundwave turned on his heels and strode away. "Laserbeak!" Soundwave's command sliced through the air, and the Cybertronian swooped down from the trees to join him.Starscream let out a gruff sigh and gradually pushed himself to his peds. Without uttering a word, he turned and began to stride away, clutching his helm tightly.
I considered my options. Stab my sword in the back of Starscream's helm or return to our hideout. The base lay in the middle of the woods. A group of fellow Decepticons and I had been holed up here ever since N.E.S.T intensified their pursuit of us. Dying wasn't very high on my priority list, and I knew which battles to pick. The humans were not as defenseless as I previously believed. I had to give them that.
Megatron lay defeated and concealed beneath the ocean waves, his exact location a well-guarded secret for obvious reasons. Laserbeak was still working on it. It was a matter of time before something would pop up or someone would break.
The only certainty I held was that Demolisher and Sideways had met their end just a few days ago. Which meant N.E.S.T was getting closer to us as well. While I disliked Demolisher as much as Starscream, Sideways was one of the few I tolerated. His death was an inconvenience, to say the least.
As I strolled through the vast halls, I found myself near Soundwave's room. Well, it wasn't exclusively his domain, but he had subtly asserted his claim when he arrived. Starscream never approved of it. Still didn't. Soundwave had an inevitable dominance that far surpassed Starscream's, which had cemented his territorial hold.
(Y/n) realized that if Soundwave had been Megatron's second, things would've been different. Why Megatron had chosen Starscream in the first place stayed an unanswered question.
Leaning against the cold, metallic wall, my thoughts drifted off. There was something about him, something that eluded a precise definition.
Though a part of me secretly admired him, I was painfully aware that he'd never reciprocate those feelings. I glanced down at my body, bearing the visible memories of my past battles.
Lost in my thoughts, I was abruptly brought back to reality when Laserbeak appeared. "(Y/n)..." he purred with a sly undertone. I focused my optics, studying him intently. Lazerbeak was one of the rare individuals who didn't cower in my presence. It puzzled me, considering I held the upper hand in strength and could effortlessly slaughter him.
I let out a tired grunt as I peered at him. "What do you want?" I asked, my voice tinged with irritation. He glanced at me, his crimson optics piercing into my own. I could feel the intensity of his gaze. "Nothing... but Soundwave would like to see you," he replied, his tone casual, bored even. I sniffed nonchalantly and nudged the small metallic bird perched on my shoulder.
With deliberate steps, I moved away from the wall I had been leaning against and crossed the room to reach the door on the opposite side.
Once inside, my attention shifted to Soundwave, who engrossed in one of his projects. I observed him at work. He was always busy doing something. "(Y/N)..." he said, looking up as I entered the room. With a heavy sigh, I replied, "You wanted to see me." He nodded and approached me, his eyes filled with admiration.
"I truly admire your temperament," he began, and I could hear the genuine impression in his voice. I angled my helm as his optics looked me over. Once, twice, and then they met my optics again. I couldn't help but express my thoughts, saying, "We both know he's a total asshole," with a disgruntled tone. A faint smile graced his features. "I couldn't agree more, (Y/N)," he purred, and my frame electrified. The erotic purr had honey-like heat coiling in the lower parts of me.
His nostrils flared, most likely scenting the shift in scent, but he said nothing about it. "What do you think about going out for a drive?" he suggested. I was taken aback, but couldn't resist the invitation. "Yeah, I'd like that," I replied, shifting into my alt-mode. Soundwave mirrored my transformation and followed suit.
As we hit the highway, I couldn't help but voice my concern, "Aren't you worried about the Autobots possibly tracking us down?"
"Not really... I'd know if they were close," he said. Arrogant aft, but he was most likely correct.I exited the freeway, and this time, Soundwave surged ahead, taking the lead. I sped after him until we found a secluded spot. There, away from prying human eyes, we both transformed. It was a moment when neither of us cared about being discreet. Soundwave's optics briefly met mine as he gently traced one of the many battle scars adorning my frame with his digit. The movement had electricity run down my spine.
His unexpected move took me aback, though I didn't resist. My engine purred in response. "You're so beautiful..." he whispered, shivering my circuits. I couldn't help but sigh, averting my optics. My image of myself wasn't exactly the same as Soundwave's. "I'm not."
He shook his helm, his grip gentle yet firm on my servos. "I like it... It shows how brave you are," he said, a confident smirk gracing his features. My spark fluttered at his words, and for that fleeting moment, I felt a warmth unlike any I'd ever experienced. He walked a slow circle around me. His servo moved from my waist to the small of my back.
"I've always had feelings for you, (Y/N), even back on Cybertron." My Energon nearly boiled, and I cut a glance over my shoulder. "Before the war broke out, I yearned to share that with you," he continued. His voice dropped a few octaves, and he stopped in front of me. The cold slapped against the spots where his servo had just been.
Our eyes locked. A hint of that smirk remained on his face—just the slightest curl in his derma.
"I love you."
The boldness of those words nearly had me biting my tongue. My body completely locked— Soundwave's lips gently meeting mine. His unexpected kiss surprised me, but I couldn't help but reciprocate, moving closer to him. Having his warmth leak into me.
"I love you too," I whispered, my voice barely audible, as I pressed my lips against his once more. Soundwave's tentacles gently encircled me, drawing me nearer, and he traced the scars on my back and sides. A soft, involuntary moan escaped my lips in response to his touch before I reluctantly pulled away. He tenderly caressed my helm with one of his tentacles and planted one last lingering kiss on my lips.
