It happened on a Saturday. Just a normal day like any other. Since I didn't have school I wanted to try to write a new song with my mom. She has taught me a lot when it comes to songwriting and making the music to go along with my words. I was probably going to hang out with my friends today too. I mean we do hang out like every day; it's like a normal thing. If we didn't hang out every day than I guarantee our lives would be so boring. I walked downstairs to see my parents in the kitchen cooking breakfast. They were listening to music while they were both cooking. They also were dancing in and then some kissing was involved.
"Do you mind? You guys should get a room." I told them.
"Honey, are you jealous?" My mom asked. Then she grabbed me and pulled me in. Her and my father hugged me and started giving me kissing all over.
"Okay. I give. You can stop now." They finally stopped kissing me and let me go from their grip.
When the food was ready, we all sat at the table, like we always do when we have breakfast, or dinner. My mom ended up asking me, "Lennox, what is your plan for today?"
"Well I was hoping you could help me with a song I am working on right now. And then I'll probably hang out with the girls. But other than that, I don't really think I have anything else going on."
"When are you planning on hanging out with them?"
"I don't know, we will probably go out to lunch or something. Just the usual thing you know."
"Well after breakfast we can work on that new song your working on."
"Thanks mom."
"Your welcome, sweetie."
"Dad, what are you going to do today?"
"Well since you ladies are working on a new song, I think I will go hang with the boys, fishing."
"Tell them I say hey."
"I definitely will. Well I'm pretty much done with breakfast. I am going to go ahead and head over there. You beautiful ladies have a wonderful day." He kissed my mom on the lips and then kissed me on the top of my head.
"Bye, honey. Have a good day!"
"Bye dad." He walked out of the door leaving us alone. We finished our food and washed the dishes. Then I bought my keyboard to the living room. "So, what have you been working on?"
"I want this song to be about the unknown. Like something that someone can listen to and hope that their world will get better no matter what they are going through. They will have their someday. Which is also the title of the song."
"I really like that concept a lot. Okay, so let me hear what you got so far."
"I only have like the chorus of it." I sang the chorus for her. She smiled which is a good sign. "So, what do you think?"
"I like it. I got a few ideas for the beginning of it. And then the second time you repeat the chorus I think your someday, the last one should go higher and then the very last someday you sing should be the lowest one."
"Yeah that sounds great. I like that."
We started fiddling around with the music and the song trying to find something that would be great and bring the song together. We practiced for an hour and a half. We didn't finish working on the song, but we got pretty far with it. Dallas picked me up, already having Madison and Christina. You see Dallas is the only one who has a car. I mean she should since she is a street racer. She is the next oldest after me. She has been a huge fan of racing ever since she was born. Her dad was in NASCAR, so it makes sense that it's her whole life. She is the tomboy of the group though, with shoulder length black hair and soft brown eyes.
