Hi! Thanks for checking out this story! It's one I've been exploring for awhile but have only just started to write. There's a lot to come but here is the start! Let me know what you think in comments, I mainly write poetry and this whole writing huuuge (or they feel huge to me anyways) blocks of text is very new to me!

*Lanas PoV*

Lana stood in the dark, a sliver of moonlight running down her slender body. her eyes were open, concentrating on a patch of dark cave wall that lay infront of her. She sighed, raising her arms, closing her eyes as she did so. She felt a sense of calmness that she so rarely felt, however she was still alert. She was always alert now.

This was her favourite area in the series of caves and tunnels that her and her kind called their home. She liked to come here at night and simply stand, thinking. It was very much her area of safety. The others knew that when she was here, she was to be left alone bar an emerancy that needed her attention right away.

Out of the silence Lana heard running, traveling fast over the cold hard surface of the tunnel systems floor. It was coming to her cave she released and she opened her eyes, turning towards the entrance to the cave and she lowered her arms so they hung next to her. She frowned slightly. She could sense real urgency in the footsteps coming towards her. A few seconds after she had opened her eyes, one of her cloest and most trusted kinsman came in.

John, she thought softly to herself with an inward smile. One of her best friends before and one of her inner circle now.

"Lana. You to come, now!" John said, the same sense of urgency in hsi words that she had felt in his movements a few seconds before. "We've found one but.. Well you need to see for yourself"

Lana frowned, the simple finding of one of their kind was not something that needed her attention. The others of the group knew what to do, so whatever or whoever they had found must be pretty special for her to be disturbed in her quiet time like this. Something was amiss, and if she was needed so urgently then she had better get her arse there to see what was wrong.

She merely noded, allowing him to know she would come straight away and for him to lead the way. He moved out of the chamber and she followed. They ran, quicker then even the wind. Lana loved to run, but given that she was worried about what she would find at the end of this short one, she could not find her usual sense of pleasure from the activity.

They reached the main chamber and they slowed to a walk. Lanas eyes didn't even need to search the large chamber they had arrived in, she saw the instance they came in the group of a dozen people surronding a figure that lay on the floor. She walked over, feeling the soft beating of her heart as she did so. The group moved apart silently, sensing their leader moving towards them. It seemed like a lifetime for Lana to make the short walk to the figure.

Lana stood over the figure. She couldn't she the figures face, long blonde hair lay across hiddening it from view. She knelt, and brushed the hair to one side. What she saw was not what she was expecting. Her expression didn't change but suddenly her heart was beating faster then it had in the 3 years she had been this way.

"Jasmine" she whispered, and the figure stirred.

"Lana" came a soft reply from the red lips of the girl who lay there.

Lana stood, pulling her hand back sharply. She turned, walking away from the figure. John followed her, knowing that what had just happened was something Lana had never expected. They walked out of earshot of the others, who had all bent over the girl and Lana looked back then at John.

"How is she here?" She asked, now her expression had changed and it was confused.. startled.

"I don't know. We found her in the usual place." Was his reply. Lana could tell her was telling the truth and she simple shock her head.
