Chapter 4

"I'm so stupid. So so so damn stupid. Ugh, how the hell did I get lost in a school the size of my purse? Goddamn it and it seems that I just gave up on improving my fucking potty mouth. I swear it's this damn school."

Maya walks through the halls oblivious to her surroundings wandering aimlessly through the halls of her new school talking to herself. She's completely lost and has absolutely no idea where she's going. She gave up on going to class 15 minutes ago and is trying unsuccessfully to make her way back to the auditorium and HIM. God I feel so guilty, Maya thinks to herself. Taylor was only trying to help and now that she was away from him she could admit that she probably liked him just as much as he apparently liked her, possibly even more.

Maya snap the hell out of it- no more maudlin thoughts. Maya stops sulking and decides that since she will not be going to her second period class anyway she should enjoy her first skipped class. She begins to pay attention to her school. Dark mahogany wood panels, rich auburn and dark navy carpets with stark white walls made up the basics of J. Parker Academy. There were potted plants in every corner and on the windowsills, which surprisingly added warmth to the otherwise cold school. The lockers that lined the wall were ivory and huge, at least two feet across and shoulder height. At every corner of the three floors of the academy were immaculate restrooms with wooden doors. The school was understated and very elegant, evidence of its wealth.

At the end of the hall Maya notices four girls staring at her. They each have trademark fake tans and salon styled perfect hair. They are each wearing expensive clothes in the height of fashion. Three of them are standing in a deferential pose behind the average height blonde in the front. She has the classic bitchy mean girl pose; hands at her hips and smirk on her face. Oh God not again, Maya thinks. They all have that look on their faces; a combination of envy, contempt, and unfriendliness. They've all obviously decided that they DO NOT LIKE HER. Maya was used to this look, had even encountered it many times before in her previous schools. She just had never received it on her first day of school before and has no idea what to do. She really wanted to be nice to these girls who obviously hated her.

They had no idea how lucky they were. Maya's swear jar was enacted because of her previous behavior. Maya resented her constant moving and adapting to new places and before had never been quiet about it. She used to be mean, aggressive and a horrible cusser, and she started many fights. Plus she was a sarcastic ass. Girls at other schools hated her and she pretended to never care, but this year she had planned on being different (the only reason she would use a swear jar). This fuckin' day could not get any worse, Maya thinks. When she receives another chilly death glare from the girls, she hastily turns into the girls' restroom to avoid them.

"No fighting on the first day." Maya chants to herself as she enters the restroom with a bang as the door slams against the wall. She pays no attention to her feet as she storms towards the mirrors and trips over the very long legs of the girl sitting up against the wall asleep, a baseball cap pulled low over her eyes. Great another fuckin' bimbo to deal with time to revert to the old Maya, Maya thinks as she pulls herself off the ground and watches the girl start to wake up, anger and hostility coming off of her in waves.

"Who the fuck woke me up?" The girl asks in a husky voice as she shoves off her baseball cap and runs her hands through her dark curly hair which is brushing the floor its so long. She appears extremely pissed, until she looks up and finally notices Maya who's just as aggressive and angry as she is. When she sees the look on Maya's face she starts to grin, which makes her look both pretty and fierce at the same time.
