"I do this thing..." She said, her mouth full of food. "Promise me you won't laugh." She said putting her taco down. They had made a two in the morning run to Taco Bell and may or may not have had a couple of drinks of whiskey.
"I promise." Holland giggled and Paz pouted.
"Pinky promise me with your thumb." She said holding out her thumb like it was the most normal thing in the world. Holland shrugged his shoulders and wrapped his thumb around hers awkwardly.
"Wait, shouldn't that be a thumb promise?" He asked as he took another bite. She shook her head like he was stupid.
"No. Anyways, I do this thing where I ask a person their favorite song. Then when they tell me their favorite song I will look it up and listen to it. If it's good, I trust them. If it's bad, then I won't believe anything they tell me again." She looked at him seriously and he stifled a laugh.
"Do you do that with everyone?" He asked trying to recall when she asked him his favorite song.
"Just about everyone." He put his food down and smirked mischievously.
"How come you have never asked me my favorite song?" She leaned forward and their noses were almost touching.
"I trusted you from the second your eyes met mine." She said hoarsely as her eyes flickered down to his lips.
He could smell the whiskey on her lips as if she wasn't intoxicating enough. She bit her lip cause she knew it reach right under his skin and jerked it up. The horse inside the stall beside them exhaled loudly. Holland pulled back and his hand went to the back of his neck as he felt it heat up.
Paz however was fascinated with the horse she was now standing in front of. "Whoa." She said stumbling. Maybe they had more then just a drink or two.
"I thought you said that the horses were in the field." She murmured as her hand made it's way down the side of the horses face.
He shrugged, she wasn't paying attention to him anyways. She climbed over the stall and the horse made a sound of amusement as she nuzzled his neck.
"I don't think that's a good idea." Holland said. Her head jerked from what would be the horses neck and she scolded him.
"Carpe diem: seize the day." She said as Holland shook his head.
"I believe that's worse than yolo." He said rolling his eyes.
"What's his name?" She giggled as the horse nipped at a fly.
"Anarchy." He said quietly. She laughed some more and climbed ontop of the stall, stopping before she was on the same side as Holland. She kissed Anarchy's nose and smiled.
"Be good now, you hear?" She said trying to sound like Holland. Holland rolled his eyes but smiled.
As she was standing back up to swing her leg over the stall door, her boot got caught on the hinge and she fell onto the barn's dirt floor. She hit with a thud, but before Holland even had time to react she was in a ball laughing hysterically.
"Come here." He said, apparently able to hold his alcohol better than her. He sat her in his lap even though she was still laughing.
He stared down at her and when their eyes met, her laughter ceased. "You're cute." She said drunkingly. Her hands lazily traced his features. "You know what's crazy?" She asked as she scooted closer into his chest.
"What? You?" She shook her head. It looked like it might swing off and he placed his hands on both sides of it to make it stop.
"No you, silly mongoose." She collapsed onto his chest tiredly. "It's crazy how fast I'm falling for you."
