"Come on Samantha!" The doctor cheers, "I can see the baby's head! Just give me a few more pushes and then you'll have your beautiful baby."
Samantha pushes and cries some more, her husband Lewis holds her hand.
"You've got this honey." He whispers, kissing her hand delicately.
She gives him a tight smile and pushes again. The pressure was causing her more pain than it should have, but she didn't know that she wasn't supposed to feel like that. She pushes again and the doctor cheers.
"The baby's head is out. One more big push and your beautiful baby will be out!" The doctor exclaims.
Samantha's eyes slowly close and she can't push anymore.
"Come on honey." Lewis whispers, "Our baby is almost here."
She pushes once more and everyone cheers. The doctor then notices the problem.
"Get the baby and husband out of here." She orders as she begins to try and save Samantha.
Lewis looks back at his wife as he's ushered out.
"Sir, your wife will be okay." A nurse smiles, covering up her own fears as she looks at the baby, "Would you like to see your beautiful daughter?"
He nods and holds out his arms as she hands over the baby and he smiles down at her.
"Brittney." He whispers, "Her names Brittney."
"Beautiful name." The nurse smiles, but her smile quickly fades as the doctor walks out and gives her a quick shake of the head.
"Mr. Klable, I regret to inform you that your wife was officially pronounced dead as of 1:34 p.m the 7th day of September." The doctor says, watching the man's expression go pale, cold, and dark.
"Get this thing away from me." He orders, shoving the baby into the nurse's arms and storming into the room where the best and worst things to ever happen, had happened.
The nurse stares down at the baby and starts to coo at her, "It's okay. I grew up without my mother too. You'll still be a strong, independent woman."A man walking passed, stops and smiles at the baby, "She's gorgeous."
"Isn't she?" The nurse asks, not taking her eyes off the baby.
"Where are the parents?" The man asks, looking around.
"The mother died." The nurse whispers, "The father is grieving in the room as we speak."
The man looks back at the blonde haired baby with the soft blue eyes. He gets closer to the baby and smiles, "You're absolutely perfect. Not a single flaw to be seen."
The father then returns at that moment and stares at the strange man, "What are you doing near my daughter?"
The man backs away and smiles, "My name's Patrick. I'm just admiring your baby. Has your eyes, but I can't tell where she gets her hair."
Lewis stays quiet and stares at his daughter. The strange man was right, the eyes were his. But he didn't know that the blonde hair was identical to her mothers. The color matched to a tee.
Patrick looks back at the baby then at the man, "What was your name?"
"Lewis." He replies, "And this here is my daughter Brittney." He takes the baby from the nurse and smiles down at her.
"I hope to see you around." Patrick smiles, before leaving.
He began researching this Lewis. And found everything he needed to know. Now he just had to make it look like an accident.
