Kaycee had never had a boyfriend before and being honest, she still wasn't sure if she had one because they still haven't had the label conversation, they were still just enjoying being with each other and that was perfectly fine for her, except that not really. They have been 'enjoying being with each other' for about three months now and Kaycee was starting to get confused if Sean really wanted for them to be anything more than a secret since he seemed pretty comfortable about keeping things as they were. Every time she even tried to talk about it he would change the subject or say that they should wait more before going public.
Don't get her wrong, she still wasn't ready to go full-on telling the word about them but she thought they would at least had told their families and friends by now, but nothing really happened yet.
She didn't want to rush him into anything because she knew that if it was the other way around he would never do that to her, the thing is that she never expected to be this way around. I mean, she knows her own self and she knows him too so she never thought that she would the first of them to be ready for it.
Now it was valentine's day and she was helping Bailey to get ready for her date with Ken, the two of them had started dating about the same time Sean and Kaycee started to 'enjoy being with each other'. They even tried to keep things a secret for a while too but Bailey being Bailey, she really didn't manage to go a week without telling Kaycee everything.
Sometimes Kaycee would feel bad for not telling Bailey about her and Sean, her friend would go sharing everything about her relationship with her and she couldn't share anything. She hated not telling her friend things and also, it was sad because every time Bailey's would shine while talking about her boyfriend, Kaycee would wish to be able to do the same.
"Earth calling Kaycee!" Bailey's words snapped her out of her mind. She was sitting on her friend's bed as the other was getting ready. "This shirt or the one I was wearing before?"
"Sorry, I got distracted. Uhm..." She stopped while trying to remember what was the previous shirt.
"You don't remember what I was wearing before, right?" Kaycee denied and Bailey sighed, sitting in bed with her. "What's going on?"
"What do you mean?" Kaycee asked while she started to fold her friend's clothes that were on the top of the bed, as a way to be casual.
"You are not here today, at all, and I can tell something is bothering you because you haven't smiled every since you got here. And that it's pretty odd for you." She said as Kaycee kept folding the clothes. "And stop folding my clothes, you hate folding." She took the clothes out of the other's hands.
"I'm fine, just a bit tired I guess." She said without looking in her friend's eyes.
"It's alright if you don't want to tell but you don't have to lie either, it's my job as your best friend to at least ask you." She held Kaycee's hand for a second before returning to her closet. "Alright, I'm gonna get the other shirt and you pay attention this time."
Kaycee laughed as Bailey came back. "So, each one?"
The girl asked while staring at Kaycee through the mirror. Kaycee then stood up and gave her friend a quick hug. "Thank you for being amazing... aaaaand you look like a carrot with this shirt so I vote on the other."
Bailey laughed. "Uhg, I love you."
Around six-ish pm, she left her friend's house and was planning to text Sean to see if he wanted to do anything because even though they weren't official they could still hang out, and also because her family was going to celebrate her sister's birthday with a small cake and food on dinner time, and of course, he was invited.
