It surrounded me like a wave of water. I became overwhelmed with all the sounds. Though I was able to keep my head up and persevere. I finally found my way outside, pushing some people out of my way. I can't believe they made me come. They know I don't like parties, especially high school parties. My friends had persuaded me to come to this high school party. Even though we have a test tomorrow. I sat down by a couple of bushes. I tried to block out all the music. "Okay Georgia, calm down, it'll be alright", I said to myself. I want to go home but Kailey was my ride here...what do I do? Should I call mom? Maybe Dad ca-My thoughts were disrupted by a groaning sound. Like someone was in pain. I looked around but didn't see anyone. I looked to right, then to my left. I almost screamed, there is a girl in the bush next to me. How did I not see her?! Is she okay? Probably drank too much. I nudged her a bit. She didn't move. I checked for a pulse, she seemed to have one. I finally decided to drag her out of the bushes and into the lawn. I turned her over, she had blue eyes and black hair down to her ears. She seemed to have passed out. I propped her up against a tree so she wouldn't choke. I sat down next to the tree and read some comics on my phone. After about a twenty minutes I heard a weak mumble. I turned to see the girls eyes slightly open. Her mouth was ajar as if she was trying to say something. "Ummm Hi, my name is Georgia. I saw you passed out in the bushes. Do you need anything? Like water or food?" She just stared in the off into the distance. Though she was able to let out a hushed word, "w-water" She needs water! Thankfully I have some in my bag. I pull the crushed, half-empty water bottle out of my bag. "Here, sorry there isn't much left." She weakly grabs it from my hands and starts chugging it. Oh uhhhh okay then...
We say there for awhile. On occasion we engaged in conversation. Though it was brief. After awhile, people started filing out of the house. Everyone with someone else they didn't plan on leaving with. I looked around for my friend, Kailey, but there was no sight of her. "She might still be inside. Probably talking with Lincoln...great." I looked over to the girl, I had almost forgotten about her. "How are you doing?" She responded, "Good, thanks." "I don't think I got your name," I said "You don't have to tell me if you don't want too." She turned her head to look at me, "My name is Darling. What is your name?" "My name is Georgia." I put my hand out to shake her hand but quickly reeled it back in because she was too weak to shake mine. "Did you come with someone?" I asked her, hoping she had a ride home. "Yeah, I drove here with two of my friends, but they left me. My car is over there." She pointed at a dark green, older Honda. That car has seen some things. "I don't think I have a ride either. Great." I have a drivers license but I haven't bought a car yet. I work full time to save up enough money to buy one. She asked me, "Is your house far from here?" "It's a couple of blocks over. Why?" "My house is across town, and I can't drive. May I stay over at your house. It's okay if you don't trust me. I mean, we met each other today." "I don't think my parents will mind since you're a girl."(WARNING!! NEVER GO HOME WITH STRANGER FROM A PARTY! ESPECIALLY DRUNK ONES!)
I helped her up and swung her arm around my shoulders. We slowly made our way to my house. I tried to make small talk, but it ended in silence. It started to get a bit awkward. "Soooo, what grade are you in?" "I'm a senior. What about you?" "I'm a Junior. This was my first party though." "Interesting....." "..." We finally made to my house. THANK THE LORD! SAVE ME FROM THIS AWKWARDNESS!! My parents didn't really set a curfew because they knew I would come back early. I managed to drag her upstairs. I put a sheet and a pillow o the ground. "Do you need anything else?" She had already fallen asleep. Okay then...
The next morning, she was gone. She left note. "I left early. Sorry. Let me repay you. -Darling" "Oh she left early. Wait what time is it-IT'S 8:30!!! I'M LATE FOR SCHOOL!!" I quickly got dressed and ran to school. Maybe I'll see her there. I raced through the door, checked in, and got the pink pass from the receptionist. I stopped by the bathroom because I looked like an absolute mess. I jumped when a stall burst open, making a loud banging noise. Who the heck jus-OMG it's her! Darling came out of the stall, she was wearing all black clothes with a lot of dark makeup. Oh..interesting... "Oh-um-hi Darling, I got your note." She looked up with a confused look, "Huh?" "You know, the note. You slept at my house but left early." "Oh, okay." She left the bathroom and walked back to her classroom.
Every once and awhile I see heron the halls. I smile and wave, she just gives me a blank expression back. I've tried to talk to her but she just ignores me. Maybe she doesn't like me. That's why she avoids me. Then the seniors graduated, I never got to say goodbye.-Present-
I was at my normal cafe drinking my favorite drink. I know every customer that comes in and out of that place everyday. Though someone new came in today. She was wearing all black. With really heavy eye makeup. She seemed emotionless. Maybe I should cheer her up?....
