Don't own anything*

"Doctor, I must object. He's dangerous. He'd probably just kill us." Nancy, my nurse piped in. I sighed loudly, still staring at the cryo chamber in front of me. "I'm your Commander now. Besides it's not my choice, Nancy. I have my orders this man, is our last hope." I frowned. With his reputation we were probably all going to die. Regardless of my personal opinion my planet was being ripped apart but almost invisible enemies I owed it to my people to wake up the last warrior of his kind. I had to wake the last Furyan.

Nancy handed me the disk drive. Her Big brown eyes glanced nervously ahead as I engaged the program. "Reanimation process engaged. Subject revived in 5.4.3.2.1." The countdown stopped but the chamber door remained locked. I groaned and flung my sliding chair backwards into a filing cabinet. "Commander Brooks, I don't think you should." She stammered. I waved her away and opened the lab door. Standing in front of the chamber I realized I was holding my breath so I exhaled and reached for the hatch.

I laughed at myself. He wasn't 12 foot tall like the man my imagination had made him to be but at 6'2" with huge muscles, he still towered over me. My body reacted without my permission and I reached out to remove his famous goggles. It happened too fast for me to react. His large hand wrapped around my wrist, holding it perfectly still. "You smell good. Who the hell are you?" His voice was dry and crackly. "I'm your doctor. Ashlynn Brooks. I'll get you some water." I tried to pry myself from his grip. He snatched my keys and unlocked himself. "Now we can." He led me away from the chamber to the center of the room. I was certain he was staring at me underneath those ugly black goggles. "Oh." I hurried to find him something to drink. "Here you go." I handed him a glass of water and watched him swallow it down.

"Mr.Riddick. I've been ordered to awaken you and request that you help save our team in return for the removal of your bounty." I offered. He laughed. "What's gonna stop me from walking away right now?" He asked. I sighed. "I am." I stuck my chest out bravely only to receive a smirk from Riddick. He moved me aside and strolled towards the door. I struck him with my prod stick and he fell to one knee. "Did you fucking shock me?" He growled in disbelief. I nodded and returned a smirk. Then before he could speak I wrapped a collar around his neck. "Oh hell no Lady, if you shock me again." He warned. I taunted him by grazing my finger over the button. "Richard B. Riddick. I've heard stories about you. I knew you probably wouldn't give a damn about us so I brought this as a precaution." I explained. He growled at me. "Then you should know I'll get out of it." He promised. "I count on it Mr.Riddick but in the mean time. I'll keep you slowed down." I shot. Riddick reached out and pulled me to the floor pinning me under his massive form. I reached for the button. "Ah. Ah. Doc. You wanna shock too?" He smirked down at me. "Get off." I struggled. He snorted. "Poor choice of words, Doctor."

Riddick's hand traced mine. He easily removed the button from my grip. With his body weight off me I could finally breathe. The monster of a man looked down at me. His hand reaching out to me. "Come on Doc." He turned his head sideways, the way a confused dog would. He didn't seem so dangerous that way and my hand found its way into his. "No hard feelings?"He asked. I nodded slowly. "Good, Now I'm taking a ship and heading towards Athania. You're not going to tell anyone." He instructed firmly. "Riddick, Please. You're the only one who can help us. Beside we won't have a working ship for another week or so." I begged. His jaw tighten. "Really? Don't have much of a choice now, Do I?" He shot. "I'm sorry, Mr. Riddick." I started . "Would ya stop with that Mr. Shit. Just Riddick."

The brute followed me back to our stronghold. "Is this everyone?" He glanced around at four women and two men. "No. There's twenty of us in the dorms there were more but... this is it now."I stopped. I couldn't talk about it. Riddick took note of my cracking voice and he tapped me. "Hey Doc, Take this off huh?" He smirked. I nodded and reached up to unlatch the collar. His hands on my hips helping me reach. "Ashlynn, Is that?" Macy paused. "Richard B. Riddick?" I finished. She nodded meekly. It was obvious everyone was weary of him. He wasn't really the trusted type, he'd rather save his own skin. Truth was unless we could become useful to him, Riddick would leave us for dead the second an opportunity arose.
