Safehouse

We stopped at the end of the tunnel. Riddick glanced around outside. "There's six brute and some little guys." He noted. I giggled earning a stern glance from Riddick. He slid out his shiv and palmed it ."Something amusing? Commander?" He shot. My smile quickly faded. My cheek flushed crimson." Its those little guys. I mean they run away." I mumbled. Riddick sighed and shook his head at me. Anna pushed her way through the crowd. "We've got six guns and they're not charged well so don't waste your shots." She handed out the guns, looking hesitantly at Riddick. He shook his head. "I won't be needing that." He turned his hand over and revealed his curved shiv. "You can't be serious? That little thing won't poke a hole in those brutes."Anna argued. His metallic eyes shift to her. "Well see about that. you've all got guns?" He asked. The group nodded and pushed in closer to him. "Don't fall behind, If you're not a skilled shooter run directly to the safe house." He instructed.

I let the group pass me, Nick and Anna were shooting while Macy got the group the woman and children inside. The night lit up with blue and green beams from the guns. I couldn't help but to glance over at Riddick. He was locked in a hands on battle with an bird like raptor. The alien towered over him but Riddick was faster and was slicing at the beast. With one finally spin the shiv cut through the it's neck and it fell backwards. Riddick wipe the blood away from his face. I took aim and shot. He ducked just in time for my shot to zoom passed his ear and into the hunter clinging to a rock behind him. Riddick glanced over his shoulder, the creature's grip released the rock and crashed down to the ground. "Nice shot. Now move your ass." He growled and took off running. I walked backwards, gun in each hand shooting colorful heat beams into the aliens . Riddick pulled me by my hips inside and locked the door.

Leaning against a wall I took a head count. 19. I was down two. "What happened?"I asked. "Raptor's." Nick answer. He ran his palm through his spiky hair before wrapping Macy in his arms. I looked over at Nancy. She was bleeding from the side of her face. It caused my stomach to twist. "Nancy." I reached down to check the wound. "I'm fine, Commander." She told me. I nodded. "Okay we're about a 100 yards from a shuttle. It won't carry us all I'm sending the Children and such off with that." I informed. "I'm not staying here. Are you crazy?" Nick shot at me. " Nick, we have a better chance than them." Macy started. "Shut the hell up. I'm going." He pushed Macy to the floor. Riddick's massive fist slammed into the Sheetrock beside Nick's head. "You probably should consider that again." He advised. "You wouldn't let him kill." Nick looked to me.

I licked my thin bottom lip and curved it into a smile. "Perhaps, I mean it's not like you're concerned for anyone else. Beside I hear you're after my job." I taunted. Without another thought I slammed the butt of my gun into his head and watched him slide down the wall. Macy screamed and ran towards him. She placed her cheek on his chest. "How could you, Ashlynn?" She screamed through her sobs. "He's only unconscious." Riddick spoke before turning away. "Nancy, I'm sending you with the children and Ted." I led him to the back of the room. Ted was a skinny kid with mop of curly blond hair he hardly kept up and big green eyes. "I need you to help Nancy fly the ship, Can you do that?" I looked deep into the teen's eyes. I could see he was scared. "Commander, I want to stay and fight." He objected. I placed a comforting hand on his shaking shoulder. "Ted. That's very brave of you but I need someone who knows his way around a breaker box and control panel." I encouraged him. Ted took a deep breath. "I don't think I can do this?" He whispered. "I believe in you, so does Macy." I started.

"You can drive it kid, now lets get you to that shuttle." Riddick looked down at Ted. Anna took the front, Carla and Macy in the middle and Riddick and I brought up the back, leading six kids and Nancy away from the Safe house. "Go.Go." I screamed as the gunfire began. I could hear explosions and quickly forced my team to run towards the left of the shuttle. I held my breath as a missile landed directly in the path we had been traveling. "Ashlynn." The sound of my name over gunfire caused me to hesitate again and I paid dearly. The heat was so intense from my arm I was forced to cry out . I had fallen to my knee and closed my eyes. I was then thrown over Riddick's shoulder and we raced to catch up with the group.

Anna had packed everyone on board. "Get the nurse." Riddick called out to her as he sat be down on the boarding dock. "Commander." Nancy called as she knelt down beside me. "Get the kids out of here." I ordered. "But Ashlynn." Nancy objected. "That's an order." I scolded. "You need to be on this shuttle." Riddick argued. I shook my head. "I have to save the others." I told him. "Your arm is damaged." He noted. I glared at him. "You're impossible." He grunted and tore away a piece of cloth from my shirt. I felt exposed at how much of my body he'd uncovered but I quickly forgot as he pulled the cloth over my arm. I screamed out and flung myself down on the dock in a ball. Riddick chuckled. "My pain amuses you?"I hissed up at him.

He picked me put by the collar of my shirt. "Time to go." He barked at Anna, Clara and Macy. Macy hugged her brother, crying she told him how proud she was at his bravery. He nodded and stepped inside the shuttle. "Shoot to kill ladies, I'm draggin dead weight." His remark earned him a swift kick in the shin from me. "Yeah, you'll slide with that one. Do it again and I'll drop you ass." He shook me in the air before stepping out of the boarding dock. It was all a blur he was moving so fast all I could see was the colorful shots flying passed us. The pain in my arm finally forced me to succumb to the darkness again.
