Next summer:
It had been one year since James had gotten his acceptance letter into Hogwarts and a lot had changed. When James had gotten back from Hogwarts in the summer he started to ramble about how he was one of the best students that Hogwarts has ever seen and how that he had made friends that were the talk of the school. He had changed. His hair became messier even when their mum had tried to clean it. Eva had changed as well. She now had long black wavy hair that shown in the light and with beautiful black eyes that if you look at them, you could see a tint of green and red. She had also become smarter, advancing to all kinds of different abilities of magic, even learning the steps of producing a Patronus, but could not make one since she did not have a wand. Every day she dreamed that she would get her letter to Hogwarts and that she would become the best witch ever. She had waited till the end of summer, where her letter had still not arrived. She had become very worried. Did she not get accepted? Was she a squib? But she can't be because she was able to produce magic. James was no help to her at all, continuing to talk about how Hogwarts was amazing and practicing his quidditch skills so that he could join the team the next year. Every day, without anyone knowing, Eva became more depressed that she had even cut herself sometimes. She locked herself up in her room and would not come out until dinner, where she would barely eat. One day, however, there was a knock on the doorbell.
"Eva, it's for you honey!" her mother screamed unaware if her daughter would come down or not. Luckily she did and when Eva came down, she looked pale, though her skin was still a beautiful olive, and if you looked closely on her hands you could see little scar marks from times that she had cut herself.
"Yes mother who is it," She mumbled as she walked down the stairs unsure if she had made the right decision of doing so. Did she really want people to see her like this? A little freak? But when she got downstairs she was shocked with who was sitting on the couch with a teacup in his hand.
"Honey, I would like you to meet Professor Dumbledore."
"Professor Dumbledore, what are you doing here?" Eva questioned as she had plopped down next to him on the sofa. Her mother sat down on the chair beside her with a worried look on her face.
"Well Isabella, (most people called her by her first name) your mother has brewed some lovely tea have some," Eva did as he said and took one of the teacups into her hand, "you might be wondering why you have not received your Hogwarts letter yet even though it is the end of the summer," Eva nodded pulling her sleeve down to cover her scars, "It has become aware to me, and many of the professors at Hogwarts that you are not a normal girl. Your talent is incredible, and as the ministry of magic watches all wizards and witches under the right age. we have learned that your capability is much stronger than what any of us have believed. And so with that, I am proud to announce that you will be pursuing higher education than children of your age." Dumbledore explained as he presented her with a red envelope. Instead of the Hogwarts letter that her brother had received, this one was a dark red glowing even in the darkness of the house. It had a golden stamp on it, in which it had the Hogwarts logo. Eva started to mentally scream! Yes! FINALLY! But why this color and what did he mean when I will be pursuing higher education than most students my age? Eva looked back at Dumbledore so he could finish
"You will be sorted regularly as most first years, however after the welcoming ceremony, you will be walking the halls of Hogwarts as a second-year student, though I have wished you could have gone higher, the staff of Hogwarts has decided that this will be best for you." Dumbledore had finished and Eva was staring at the letter. ME? A second-year student? This was amazing!
"Well, Isabella will we be honored of you joining us this year at Hogwarts?" Dumbledore had questioned. She was still in shock. She couldn't believe it.
