Emo Romance chapter 2

Next day, Alex couldn't stop thinking about what had happened. There was nothing he could possibly do to find out who was the girl. He picked up his skateboard and left the house. As he was about to turn the corner he crashed into someone, making them both fall. "Dude look where you going" He stood up and picked his skateboard off the floor and realised he bumped into a girl, who seemed familiar. "My mum always said I should not listen to music this loud, damn it she was right."

When she saw Alex, she waved with a familiarity, "Hey it is you again". He then realised by the voice that was the same girl from the night before."Wow, it is you. I did not get your name last night, so I could not look for you and find out if you were ok." She rubbed the back of her head" I am Jenny....but erm got to go now " She rushed passed Alex in the opposite direction. Alex did not want to lose sight of her again so he shouts "Hey, I am Alex. Give me your number!" She looked at him blinking and he realised it was more of a demand than a question. She smiled and agreed to give it to him before leaving.

At the weekend, he decided to call her to see if they could hang around. "Hey, Jenny is me, Alex... I was wondering if you wanted to hang out today?" There was a brief silence from the other end but she replied: "Sure... what time ?" He thought for a moment, as he did not want to be too late because of what almost happened to her last time. "At four o'clock near the park we met?" She agreed before ending the call.

They ended up meeting at the time agreed. It was sunny but the wind was blowing strong. They decided to seat in the sand while watching the waves in the ocean. Jenny broke the ice as it was getting awkward "So... do you have a girlfriend Alex?" He chuckled before looking at her. "Who would want to date a skinny, ugly weirdo ?" She looked down disappointed at his response but replied: "I think you are cute Alex, to be honest." He was surprised as it was the first time a girl ever said that to him. He was used to be called ugly and be rejected at school so it was shocking. " I think you are not from this world Jenny, seriously.... but what about you?" She briefly smiled before looking up at the sky. "Nah... I am the ugly one." Alex crossed his arms and looked at her in disapproval " No you are not! You are.... you are.... erm...." He was just speechless because he could not explain her beauty but she took in the wrong way. "Exactly. Well, I think I should go."

He agreed at first because he thought it was getting late and it was for the best. He then realises something was wrong so he runs up to her, she was wiping her tears. He grabbed her by the arm "Jenny what's wrong ?!" She tried to get out of his grip but she couldn't "Alex just let me go! I want to go home. I am tired of being called ugly and what not. What other girls have that I don't ?!." Jenny was pretty in her own way, her hair was straightened most of the times and she cut her own bangs herself. She had a dark skin and gold brown eyes." Alex was amused by her beauty but could not find the right words in that moment. "Jenny I did not mean that you are ugly..." She kept moving about until he let her go, she then walks away without another word.

He decided to go home as well and call it a day. If he wasn't shy and scared to be rejected again this would have not happened. He thought about what she said about being rejected "But I do like you and I want to be your boyfriend..." Lost in his thoughts he fell asleep.
