Chapter 11

*Lucy's P.O.V*

Sam wasn't acting like herself. Ever since she broke up with Drew. I tried to get her mind off of it by taking her shopping and now I take her out for a movie. She seems...happy. If that's the appropriate word to use. At least there's some light in her eyes and some colour in her cheeks. And she hasn't talked about him since....Though it's only been two days. I wonder when she sees him at school tomorrow what'll happen.

A couple minutes into the movie, she came in and took a seat next to me. She handed me a bucket of popcorn while she munched on some M&M's. Every few minutes I woud steal a glance at her and she had the same expression on everytime. A huge smile. This kind of confused me since we were watching a horror movie.

"Sam?" I asked, nudging her with my elbow. "Huh?" she asked, tearing her eyes away from the screen. "You okay? You've been smiling at the screen like a dork the whole time," I whispered. She laughed once and then rolled her eyes. "I'm just happy Luc," she said turning her attention back to the screen. I let it go....for now.

Then my mind wandered back to the blonde boy who was standing in front of her in the line. He was so gorgeous it hurt. His perfectly messy dirty blonde hair that flopped in his eyes when he moved, his broad smile that could light up an entire room, his piercing green eyes. He was just so perfect. A tiny part of me wondered if he had a girlfriend but I banished the thought as soon as it came. It shouldn't matter to me if he did. Chances are I'll never see him again so why bother.

Sighing, I leaned back into my seat to try and enjoy the rest of the movie.

Shit. Lucy had caught on to my happy mood. I tried to hide the fact that I was extremely happy. Now that I had small piece of my family back, I had made a new friend; yes I'm talking about Ren and I had Carter back. But apparently the smile on my face was too hard to hide. I lied to her saying that I was just happy but knowing Lucy, she will find a way to get the truth out of me.

I sighed, running through my options.

1) I could keep lying to Lucy and probably lose my best friend.

                          OR

2) I could tell her the truth. Well not the whole truth. Just tell her that Jev was my long lost brother and that he happened to be looking for me. She'll probably buy that seeing that me and Jev looked alike.

But how would I explain Ren. I knew she couldn't see Carter, because other humans couldn't see him either. Maybe...I can pass him off as Jev's best friend. She'd seen him at the food line with me. Maybe.......he introduced himself as Jev's best friend after she had left.

Yes. Yes. That could work. My plan had a few holes but it could work.

So option number two it was!

Satisfied with my good but faulty plan, I settled into my seat as I enjoyed the rest of the movie.

*Lucy's P.O.V*

After the movie I drove over to Sam's house to drop her off. The grin never left her face. Ok, now it was kinda creeping me out. She was half way out the car when I stopped her. "Aren't you gonna invit your best friend in?" I asked. I laughed like it was a joke but I was dead serious. She bit her lip. A habit she developed when she's nervous or in trouble. This made me want to go inside even more. "Come on please? My mom's cleaning out the basement and I really don't wanna go home!" I begged. Her eyes flickered to the house and then back at me. "Okay, go park your car in the garage and meet me inside," she said. I watched her walked up the driveway and open the door. Before she shut it, I managed to catch a glimpse of someone dressed in all black. Aha! I knew there was a reason for her smile.

I parked the car and ran up the driveway.

"Sam!?" I called. No answer. I went into the living room and almost had a heartattack. Sam was sitting in the living room and next to her was a dark haired boy with coal black eyes. They looked exactly alike in so many ways it was scary. But that's not what caught my attention.

Sitting on the loveseat was the blonde boy from the cinema. He was grinning at me like a chesire cat. "Lucy?" Sam asked, pulling my eyes away from him. "H-huh?" I stuttered. Great. Just great. "Uhm...I'd like you to meet Jev," she told me, motioning to the boy next to her. "He's my brother,"

Those three words sent tingles down my spine and my jaw dropped. "No....No it can't be. You don't have a brother," I whispered my protest. There was no way that could be her brother! She only had a sister; Macy. But there was no denying the truth. They looked way to similiar. The hair. The nose. The perfectly sculpted face. It's like their mirror twins.

"Hello," he said, nodding in my direction. "H-hi," I stuttered again. "Well isn't she a beauty?" blondie asked, leaning forward on his elbows. He was staring right at me, his gaze enticing. "Me?" I asked, pointing at my chest. He nodded and winked. Being me, I turned red. I heard Sam chuckle and I shot her a death glare. She had a lot to explain!

Before I could say anything more, another boy walked out from the kitchen. "Hey," he said, smiling at me and sitting next to Sam on the couch. Sam;s eyes turned wide and her mouth hung open. The new boy noticed this and cupped her face in his hand as he placed a soft kiss on her lips. Realizing what had just happened, she blinked twice and shut her mouth turning to me. "Uh..uhm..this is Carter. He's my-" "Boyfriend" Carter cut her off as he slund his arm carelessly around her shoulders. I also noticed how Jev glared at him. Huh. Maybe he really was her brother.

"Well...uh..it's nice to uhm meet you all....but I gotta run. My mom's expecting me," I stammered and ran back to my car without giving them a chance to say anything more. Starting the engine, I sped away from the house thoughts of this new found information floundering around in my head.
