Mine - Part 3

Sebastian wasn't able to return until a week later. To his dismay the meetings dragged on without satisfactory agreements, resulting in them adjoining new ones. Since he was the one who requested the meetings to be held a week prior to the original dates Sebastian could not complain or excuse himself. He and Alpha Arthur got close after the Annual Alpha meet. Sebastian found Arthur confident, responsible and easier to talk to. He didn't judge and had clear opinion about anything. They were similar as well as different at the same time. They just clicked and were soon enough addressing each other by their first names much to the spite of Kenneth. Kenneth just couldn't understand how Arthur and Sebastian got along quickly when it took him years to get close to Sebastian. And soon enough they were acting partners in a joint business venture. He couldn't act that irresponsible when Arthur went through a whole lot trouble to arrange the whole thing again due to his whimsical rescheduling.

But Sebastian even if he tried his best found it really hard to concentrate or provide his opinions during the discussions. He just straight out failed to remain level headed during the meetings. Most of them noticed his unusual temperament. As he appeared fractious and extremely grouchy. And they felt like they were walking on eggshells. There was even one time when Sebastian just exploded and almost smashed in their meeting long table because the one doing the presentation used the word 'coward' one too many times. Arthur had a hard time diffusing the situation as well as holding his laughter as the said guy seemed like he saw grim reaper on face and Sebastian looked flabbergasted at his own outburst...the whole situation was almost comical if the patrons weren't down right terrified. Arthur however did enjoy everyone's discomfort, he felt like it was a welcome change from the boring presentation and it even gave him a chance to check on his mate as he had to suggest a break to cool down the 'atmosphere'.

Alpha Arthur found it really amusing that his friend was having tough time dealing with his feelings. However he was also worried as Sebastian started showing physical ramifications due to his increased stress levels. He decided to address the issue when he saw Sebastian rise from his seat without touching his food again.
"Why don't you just head back to her, I can manage rest of the meetings myself. Your condition is worsening."

"I am good Arthur, just a bit tired...," he started to reply but stopped when he completely registered the question, "How did you know?"

"Carmen and Adele are best friends, remember." He nodded his head towards his mate.

Sebastian looked towards the stunning black beauty who sat beside Arthur, watching the whole exchange with mocking smirk.
"If you ask me, he brought it upon himself."
"Carmen, he is aware of it..So please..." Arthur tried to calm down the situation.
"Well, it's the truth dear," she cut him off and fixed her gaze on Sebastian again, "You do realise that it will be worse for her....But you need to applaud her stubborn will though .... I don't think I will be able last this long given her conditions. She is really impressive. I really do want to meet her in person. Can we go visit her Ruth?"

Arthur chuckled at his mate's drastic change of mood.
"Of course we can, after your due date though, you need to be extremely careful right now."
"But that's about in a month from now." She pouted at her husband.
"It is. I am not doing anything dangerous for my peanut. So don't argue on this dear."
"Alright I won't, but you promised, so you can't change your word later."
"Don't worry, I won't." He couldn't help but fondly smile at his adorable mate. Carmen just tornadoed into his life and changed everything about it for the best. He was an extremely happy man with a loving mate and a dear baby on the way. He couldn't ask for more...he was contented like that. He wanted his friend to discover this happiness too. But he knew it was not his place to intervene or enlighten. Sebastian needed to figure it out himself. Nobody else could do it for him.
