Gabriella Montez: Harry Styles, Luke's boyfriend, a new student and one of the brainiacs on the scholastic decathlon team. He develops a love for Luke after meeting him at a New Year's party.
Ryan Evans: Niall Horan, Perrie's twin brother. He is very easily pushed around by his sister but is not as mean as her, despite going along with her plans to sabotage Luke and Harry. He is also shown to not be particularly smart, such as not knowing how to spell "drama", never understanding Perrie's plans and is admired by Calum.
Sharpay Evans: Perrie Edwards, Niall's twin sister and an energetic and proud student with a love of theatre. She very easily pushes around her brother. She is very mean, unlike him, but enjoys being the center of attention, particularly Luke's and is admired by Zayn.

Jack Bolton: Andrew Hemmings, Luke's father and the coach of the basketball team. He has a mutual dislike with Mr. Darbus, thinks that theatre is worthless, and also believes that Harry is a distraction to Luke's basketball career. However, he eventually comes around to it.
Kelsi Neilson: Calum Hood, a friend of Harry and Ariana and a student at East High. He is a pianist and composer. He is very shy and is constantly bossed around by Perrie, but in the end, he learns to stand for himself and not get bossed around by Perrie. He also enjoys composing and is an admirer of Niall.
Zeke Baylor: Zayn Malik, a friend of Luke and Michael who plays for the basketball team. He also enjoys baking and is an admirer of Perrie.

Martha Cox: Elizabeth Gillies, Liam's love interest and a peppy brainiac who enjoys hip-hop. She is good friends with Harry, Ariana and Calum.
Ms. Darbus, Paul Higgins, the stern drama teacher at East High. He despises sports and cell phones but takes his job very seriously, though he can be overdramatic. He clashes frequently with Andrew Hemmings.
Lisa Montez: Anne Twist, Harry's mother. Her job caused her to be transferred frequently from city to city, but she has been guaranteed that she and Harry will be able to stay in Albuquerque until Harry graduates from high school.
Lucille Bolton: Liz Hemmings, Luke's mother. She serves food for Luke at his house but is more sufficient for Luke to lose her.
Ms. Falstaff: Marisa Tomei: the librarian at East High. She keeps Michael quiet in the library and gets a book for Harry and Perrie to read and takes her job very carefully.
Rebecca "Becca" Styles, BarbaraSieger5, Harry's younger sister and daughter of Anne Twist. She has moved a lot as well as her older brother and is attending East High along with Harry.
