It has been a rough few weeks dealing with my alcoholic father and my own problems, safe to say I was stressed to the max. Forgetting my problems I put on my shirt and turned to the mirror. Looking back at me was a curly blonde haired girl wearing a black long sleeved shirt with the word 'LIFE' written across the chest in a bold lemon yellow. Smiling I walked out of the bathroom and into the living room and grabbed my bags and grabbed the last piece of my outfit, lemons. Hopping into the car my mom and I rode up to the stop sign to wait for the bus. We laughed over my outfit for a few minutes when we saw the familiar lights of the bus approaching. Hugging my mom goodbye I hopped on the bus and pulled my headphone out of my bag plugging them into my phone and pressing play on my 5SOS YoungBlood playlist.
I see the high school nearing while I'm putting my headphones away. Throwing my bags over my shoulder I stand up and exit the bus making my way into the school. I sat down next to my friend Emma who was there at the moment and handed her lemons performing the joke on her, she didn't get it sadly.
I walked down the stairs to the bottom of the gym and across to the locker rooms. Deciding to walk that day to preserve my costume (really just because I didn't want to run (•_•) ) I begin walking around the upper level of the gym thinking about if I was going to win the costume competition at church that night ( I didn't btw got 2nd). I looked up from the ground to see Stephens enter the gym with his friends I realize I will have to walk bye them to be able to continue walking. I saw that Stephens was wearing a bright orange jumpsuit like a stereotypical prisoner. Smiling at his costume I was also nearing closer and closer to him and his friends. Walking within 10 feet of him and his friends I heard and saw his friend in front turn and say "look, look!". Stephen looked up and met eye with me. Glancing away quickly and look down beyond the railing acting as if I hadn't heard what his friend just said. Out of the corner of my eye I could see Stephens falter in his steps pausing by the door as I walked by. As a passed his eyes stayed glued to me. As soon a I was ahead of him he exited the gym immediately. My mind turned into a twister with thoughts of what that situation meant. A painstaking hour later I tell my friend about the encounter. And she gasped with shock and said," Really?!" as if she didn't believe it. Nodding in confusion, my friend Lisa continued, " That is so weird!" I laughed and said, "I know." The rest of the day was spent explaining the situation to more of my friends and getting a similar response, 'that's weird'.
