My family and I have stop by 7-Eleven to get snacks before we head back on the road. I pinch my thumb and index finger to open the bag of Cool Ranch Doritos. I take a big gulp of my cherry lemonade before I put the cap back on when the bright lights are waving across and towards at us. My eyes widens to see the sign in big bold letters, ‘Welcome to Fabulous Las Vegas, Nevada.’

“Wow, look at the lighting buildings!” My eight year old sister, Delilah squeals.

“And there’s the Bellagio Fountain!” My thirteen year old brother, Ross shouts. My siblings and I are in huge awe when Mom pulls the van up on the driveway of a two story mansion with a water fountain in the center of the front lawn and in front of the house. Further notice, I see two cars that are wrapped in red bows.

“Mom, whose cars do they belong to?” I ask. My mom turns her head at me and exclaims, “It’s yours and Danielle’s! You two have your own cars ever since the both of you have read the Las Vegas driving manual months ago. Congratulations, you two sweetie pies!” Mom cheers along with dad and siblings. “Congratulations, cubbies!” Dad pinches our cheeks and we get out the van to see the inside of the house. This house is large! It has a three bay garage office, covering loggia, a nook, a balcony, walk in closet, and everything. The U-Haul men grabs our boxes and our parents tells my siblings and I to choose which room will significantly be ours. I go upstairs to find a bedroom with hot ember walls along with a nook and the guys are carrying all of my bedroom stuff, except my bed because it’s already in my bedroom. I walk to the door that has a gold knob, probably a closer. I open it to see the white and gold bathroom.

A gasp escapes from my mouth and as I’m about to scream, Ross shouts, “We got our own bathrooms!”

“So did I!” I squeal. Ross and I high five each other with Misty, Delilah, and Danielle. After the U-Haul men leave, I begin decorating my brand new bedroom and closet with clothes, shoes, pillows, picture frames, calendars, white dresser, TV, accessories, fragrances, socks, shampoos, conditioners, lotions, body washes, body sprays, and towels for my own bathroom. A knock wakes me up due to the long ass twelve and a half hours of driving from Tucson, Arizona to Las Vegas, Nevada and my Mom queries, “How do you like your room so far, Cara? Do you like it?”

“Yes, I do! Even the walls and the nook!” I answer.

“Sweetie, tomorrow morning, you and I are going to your new school for registration.” Mom informs me and kisses on my forehead. “Okay, good night, mom. I love you.”

“I love you too, sweetheart.” Mom bids, closing my bedroom.
