Matt quickly ran down the stairs from his dorm to 'H' hall. He wanted to get there before it'd be awkwardly late. Nobody just waltzes on into a party thirty minutes late. That'd just be awkward. He rushed to Vica's room and went from full sprint to casual entrance as quickly as humanly possible. The dorm was one of the largest on campus and yet it was still packed. He squeezed through everyone and found Vica sitting on the couch. Alone.
'Okay, now's my chance. You got this,' he thought to himself. He approached the couch and sat down next to Vica.
"Soooo... you come here often?" he asked.
"It's my apartment, so I'd say I come here often, yeah. Also, nice job getting locked out before exams."
"Uhh... I've been meaning to ask you something for..." he stopped talking very abruptly as the lights shut off.
"Seriously? I am the luckiest man alive today, aren't I?" Matt said to himself, "Nobody panic I'll go down to the fuse box and get the lights back."
He walked through everyone towards the door, tripping a couple times on other peoples' legs. He got to the door and fumbled in the dark to find the stair's railing. He couldn't see anything. It was pitch black. He took a step forward to try and reach where he thought the railing was, but stepped forward onto the stairs. He tripped and tumbled down the stairs, eventually getting to the bottom and slamming his head into the fusebox. He was out cold.
