DIANE'S POV
<<Well, it's time to look in all these old boxes! I live alone now! Let's decide what to keep and what to throw away!>>
So I started opening them: they were full of rubbish and useless stuff. I had to throw lots of things! But then, I opened the last one.
<<Oh, my old sketchbook... I stopped using it like 3 years ago when I understood that I'm not enough good to be a designer ahah...>>
I looked at my old drawings... but, you know, they weren't as terrible as I remembered, but not even beautiful... there was a misterious piece of paper inside the book. It came out from the page where I drew Queen's logo. It reminded me of something, somebody, I couldn't remember. I opened the note.
<<DAVID'S NUMBER! THE GUY ON THE TRAIN... WAIT.>>
A few weeks after I met Ellefson I started listening to Megadeth, so I realized that I met the bass player. I immediately called my best friend, Karen.
K:<<So, you're telling me that 3 years ago David Ellefson gave you his phone number and you NEVER. CALLED. HIM. OR. TOLD. ME. IN. 3. BLOODY. YEARS???>>
D:<<I didn't listen to Megadeth at the time, so I forgot it, I've found the number 5 minutes ago after 3 years!>>
K:<<WHAT ARE YOU DOING YOU IDIOT, CALL HIM NOW!>>
She hung up the telephone. Well, I thought "Let's call him" and I did.
*phone rings*
?:<<Hello David Ellefson, how can I help you?>>
His voice was kind and soft as I remembered.
D:<<Hi... do you remember that girl you met 3 years ago on a train from San Francisco to Los Angeles? The one who was drawing Queen's logo...>>
*(AUTHOR'S POV: Hi, sorry for my intrusion. By now, in the dialogues, I'll use the letter J, aka Junior, for David, instead of writing his full name to not confuse him with Diane.)*
J:<<...Diane? Is that you? YOU SERIOUSLY CALLED ME? OH GOSH I'M SO HAPPY YOU DID!>>
D:<<I would have called you, but I didn't know where your number was... but today I finally found it in my old sketchbook!>>
J:<<<Old?>>
D:<<Yeah... I don't draw anymore...>>
J:<<WHAT? ARE YOU KIDDING ME? YOU ARE FREAKING TALENTED.>>
D:<<Nah... but don't worry, it's ok. Listen, remember when you recommended me SFSGSW? Well, let me tell you that I'm a Megadeth fan since a few days after your advice!>>
J:<<You serious? Ahah I'm glad you like our music! OH, IDEA. You still live in LA right?>>
D:<<Yes.>>
J:<<Perfect. Now we're in NY, but we'll be back in a few days. Come to a Megadeth concert! I'd love to see you again!>>
D:<<David, I'd love it too, but I don't know where and when to buy the tickets... I'm so busy, I work as a waitress, I don't know if I can come...>>
J:<<January 31th, Casey's pub. Don't worry for your ticket, for you it's free.>>
D:<<No David. I can't accept. I'll give you money for the ticket after the concert.>>
J:<<Nah, I won't let you pay ahah. Take a friend if you want, even two, for you it's free!>>
D:<<David...>>
J:<<It was nice to talk to you again. See ya at the concert!>>
He hung up.
*phone rings*
K:<<Sweetie what do you want?>>
D:<<I called him.>>
K:<<AND?!?!?!?!?>>
D:<<Casey's pub, January 31th. He invited me at a concert. Free, he will pay for me, but of course I'll give him money back. Oh, and he also told me I can take a friend, free for you too.>>
K:<<...
THAT'S THE FUCKING BEST NEWS YOU COULD GIVE ME! I'LL MEET MEGADETH, AND DAVE.FUCKING.SEXY.MUSTAINE.>>
D:<<I hope so ahah.>>
K:<<So, in like five days I'll meet Megadeth. Ok, bye, I think I'm gonna faint>>. Then she hung up.
Perfect.
