(sorry i changed the format i'm writing in okay just fyi)
the last bell of the day rang, so it was time for detention. i held my bag close to me as i watched the other kids leave the building. i was waiting for stiles as miss campbell opened her classroom door.
"come on (y/n), it's time for your two hours of detention. hurry up and get in here so i can give you the rules of detention."
i looked around through the empty hallways for stiles, and i saw no sign of him. i sighed and followed miss campbell into her classroom. she shut the door, and stiles slammed the door open.
"i'm sorry that i'm late i," stiles seemed out of breath. my eyes lit up as he sat next to me.
"i'm glad you're here, i don't think i could have done this alone. " i leaned into his neck to whisper, "she scares me."
he laughed as miss campbell glared at the both of us. stiles' smile quickly left his face. miss campbell pointed to the board with a ruler.
"rule number one- no talking. if i catch you talking, i'll give you detention for the rest of the week. rule number two- no eating or chewing gum. if i find you eating or chewing gum i'll give you detention for the rest of the week, and i'll double your health homework. rule number three..." she began to read the third rule as scott barges into the room.
"i'm sorry i'm late," miss campbell cut him off.
"i'm adding detention to the rest of your schedule. that's my third rule, you will not be late to my detention." scott sighed and slung his bag on a chair behind stiles.
"i only hold three, simple rules to my detention. oh, and no phones. i will confiscate your phone if i see you with it. so, your two hours begin, now." she clicked a timer that was hanging on the chalkboard.
i turned around to scott and smiled, and i was glad that it wasn't just me, stiles, and miss campbell. miss campbell snapped her ruler on the desk, and i whipped my head back to my book. my english teacher assigned us homework, we were to summarize each chapter of the book we chose to read. i already had half of the book done, but it was due on friday. stiles elbowed me and looked towards miss campbell's desk. she was gone, so i quickly grabbed my stuff.
"what are you doing?" stiles asked, looking worried.
"look, i have to get home. my dad will be worried. " i looked to scott. "you should come with me. she can't keep us here for forever."
scott smirked and nodded. stiles rolled his eyes and picked his bag up. i quickly bolted to the door and looked at the empty hallways. nothing. i dashed to the double doors and threw them open. i looked around the lot as stiles and scott caught up to me. i guess i was a fast runner. they were both out of breath as i was looking for a ride home. stiles dangled a key chain in front of my eyes.
"you have a car?" i asked stiles, as he nodded to an old blue jeep. awesome! i threw my bag in the back seat as stiles started his jeep.
"gimme directions to your house, i'll have you home within a few minutes," stiles told me as he looked at me through his rearview mirror. he wasted no time and i was home within a few minutes, like he said i would be.
"thanks stiles, and thanks scott. detention was definitely, something else with the two of you. i'd not want to get detention again, but i guess it wouldn't be too terrible with you guys." scott winked at me.
"sure thing," stiles said.
i stepped into my house and before the door was even shut, i heard yells echo throughout the foyer. i quickly slammed the door closed and waited for stiles to leave before i responded to any of the yells. i looked through one of the windows on either side of my front door and saw that stiles' jeep was gone.
"are you hungry (y/n)?" my mother asked.
"no, stiles and scott got me, uhh, mcdonalds. i'm fine, thanks." i smiled at my mom and ran up the stairs. i threw myself onto my bed and took a headache relief pill. i covered up with my thick comforter and another thick quilt that my great aunt had knitted for me. i smiled against my pillow as my eyelids fell heavily over my dull and tired eyes.
i abruptly woke up to my dad opening my bedroom door.
"how was your first day at school, darling?" he asked me as he sat on the corner of my bed.
"it was cool, i met a few people and they seem really nice. i'm tired, i want to go back to sleep." i heard more yells coming from my sister and brother. they never stopped fighting. i was a middle child. i had a sister two years younger than i was, and a brother two years older than me. i got along with my brother extremely well, but my sister didn't get along with anyone. she was just a brat. whatever, i stopped thinking and began to focus on my breathing. i'm normally a stressed person, and i taught myself how to meditate. so now, when i'm feeling stressed, i just meditate. i block out all outside sounds and thoughts, and focus on my natural breathing. the breathing cannot be forced. soon, i fall asleep.
{in my dream}
i wake up screaming, in the middle of the forest. i calm myself down by quickly meditating again. i look around, and find nothing. i hear whooshes, and i begin to panic. i stand up and grab a tree branch as a weapon. i felt something fold my knees and i fell back to the ground. i felt a sharp pain in my side and i screamed.
i began to pass out, but forced myself to stay awake. i tried to say something, and nothing came up except for a few squeaks. my head began to pound and my chest got heavy, as i saw something rush towards me. i was too weak to do anything, but it picked me up. it brought me to a car, which i was too weak to keep my eyes open in order to see.
