I plopped back on my bed and took a deep breath. Finally, I'm finished packing.

"Lea! The truck will be here in an hour!" I heard my mom holler from the living room.

Ugh. Why am I moving, you ask? Well thanks a lot to online dating, my mom met a guy and they are so called "in love".

Thanks to that, I'm being forced to move all the way to Australia. He proposed to her over FaceTime. Let that sink in. He proposed to her over FaceTime.

I've never even met this guy. All I know is he lives in Sydney and he has a son my age. His name is like, Anthony or something. It's not like I really pay attention.

It just pisses me off that I'm forced to change my whole life cause my mom decides to marry some dude she's never met in person.

I groan and get back up. My next task is to bring all these boxes to the garage. Great.

"Okay, just follow me to the airport and we'll unload into the private jet that Andrew sent us. Ooh, I'll never get over saying that!" Mom squealed like a 12 year old before tossing me the car keys.

I rolled my eyes. "Whatever."

Hopping in the car, I stuck the keys in the ignition and put my seatbelt on. After plugging my phone into the stereo, I blared "The Little Things" by Good Charlotte.

Did I mention that Mom's new fiancée happens to be slightly rich? Not filthy, just slightly. That's why he sent his private jet to come get us. I can't wait to ride in his yacht! Yeah, right.

Let's hope his son isn't as moronic as him, or else I might just kill someone.

As I waited for my mom to pull out so I could follow her, I reached into the lunchbox I packed for the trip and pulled out a can of root beer.

After I opened it, I took a big swig and placed it in the cup holder.

We live in an apartment in the boondocks, so the airport is like, 3 hours away.

Suddenly, I saw the truck pull out in front of me. Here we go.

We now stood in the garage of their house. It's huge compared to my small apartment. Mom has been hugging and kissing Andrew since we got here. It's gross.

"Well hello there. You must be Lea," he greeted, holding out a hand. His accent was really strong.

Flashing a fake smile, I shook it and replied, "nice to meet you." As much of a lie it is, I promised mom I would be nice. In return, she's not gonna pester me about all of this.

"Uh....Luke should be here to help you into your room. Hold on." He walked inside and hollered, "Lucas Robert get your arse down here right now!"

"Ooh, great idea honey! That'll give them time to get to know eachother," Mom butted in.

I stood there and waited as I heard some footsteps come downstairs. As soon as they seem to reach the floor, I see a pair of all black vans. As my eyes trail up the person's body, I see they are wearing extremely tight skinny jeans, along with a Nirvana t-shirt.

He walked up to me. "Hey. I'm Luke." He actually was really cute, but also my soon-to-be brother.

"Lea," I responded. We both walked over to the truck, avoiding the sight of my mom and his dad kissing over and over.

"I can see you're not crazy about the whole marriage thing," he said.

"What gave it away? My negative attitude or the fact that I've barely spoken a word to your father?" I rebuked.

"Woah, woah. Calm yourself. I'm not really into this whole thing either. And you'll be taking the room next to mine."

"So.. Are you the arrogant jock? The quiet nerd?"

"You're really weird. We're gonna get along great," he smirked, "and neither. I'm actually in a band."

"Interesting."

After all the chit chat was over, he helped me unload all of my stuff into my room. He turned out to be really cool, and I could see myself living with him, no problem.

Maybe this isn't so bad after all.
