Chapter three

My mom being her usual busy self had left around 7 hours before hand, of course due to my lack of siblings and pets I was expecting to be in an empty house, but as I made my descent down the stairs i saw jack. I'm not quite sure how, why or when he came in but I was so unbelievably overwhelmed I tripped on my lace and buckled down the last few steps. ,he turned around and began laughing and then reluctantly pulled half off the sofa to help me up. "nice sleep?" he chuckled. "Jack what, why, how are you in my house!" I yelled, "I saw your mom leave earlier and I found a spare key in the porch lamp and I felt bad for not saying good bye and thank you for yesterday so I came in." he explained as if it was the most obvious thing. "Right well please ring the bell next time." I suggested as I slumped myself next to him on the sofa. "Sorry mom" he joked, I flashed him a sarcastic smile and playfully punched him. "So what are we doing today" he asked me catching me off guard, "YOU are going to go home and leave ME to look like a tramp and not feel self conscious" I replied as I emphasised who's who. "I think you look beautiful at naturale" he said as he sat next to me placing his head in my lap. "Please make yourself at home" i said as I switched the TV on, "don't mind if I do".

I'm not quite sure when but at some point we both fell asleep in the sofa and we woke up to the sounds of my mom calling my name, she walked in shocked to see me lying with my head burrowed into a strange boys chest.

"Oh hi Sophie, Sophie's friend" she said nodding towards jack. "Apologies if I interrupted anything I'll just grab my charger then go." "no mom it's fine jack was just leaving". I protested as I stood up "I'm terribly sorry about this, thank you for having me in your home." Jack said as he made his way to the door, I heard the door click and then turned to my mom, waiting for a lecture. "He's cute" she whispered "where can I get me an older version of that" I giggled pleased that I didn't have to endure 8 minute talks on the dangers of strangers and unsafe sex. "He's our new neighbour" I giggled "just a friend if your wondering, we just fell asleep on the sofa" I said trying to reassure her. "That's what they all say" she card out as she left the room. Although I didn't want to admit it to myself I did feel like I was falling for jack, he was just so easy to be around, it all felt natural. My phone buzzed, I looked at the screen which displayed a text from an unknown number: hey you, I had fun maybe next time we can do it with less clothes on ;)- J

I could feel myself flushing a bright crimson

Shut up jack. That was an accident and you know it. - S

Ahah like that's gonna happen, I have my ways. - J

I locked my phone mortified about everything and decided to have a bath to forget about my troubles. As I lay in my bath surrounded by candles I heard my mom outside speaking to someone I brushed it off and tried to relax. I heard a knock in the door "Sophie darling, Mrs gilinsky invited us for dinner tonight, so hurry up and put something nice on." there was no arguing with my mom so I dried myself off and put on one of my new dresses, I walked down stairs and began to put my trainers on "darling!" my mom called "you look gorgeous!" We crossed the street and knocked on the door "hello! welcome welcome!" a tall tanned woman called as she opened the door "this is my son jack." "nice to meet you" my moms said as she shook jacks hand "this is my daughter Sophie" jacks mom gave me a hug and kissed my cheek she also complemented my dress which made me happy, as we walked to the dining to jack grabbed my but and whispered into my ear "you look hot". I was so dumbfounded that I didn't react I just took my seat at the table, which evidently was next to jack. Our moms began making small talk and I took this as my cue to zone out, I was Ridley and abruptly brought back to life by a hand making it's way up my thigh. I let out a gasp and jumped a little whacking my leg in the process, this seemed to gains everyone attention "Sophie sweetie what's wrong?" my mom asked. "Umm I w- I well I just remembered I have a maths project due tomorrow" I stumbled my way to the door thanking Mrs Gilinsky for the dinner then shot across the street. I slammed the door behind me and felt a buzz in my pocket.

I went upstairs and changed into some sweats, I heard the door shut downstairs and the sound of thudding footsteps coming towards my room. My door flung open revealing an extremely unhappy mom "what the hell Sophie?!" she growled "that was so unbelievably rude, luckily we have nice neighbours, unluckily you have a mean mom and you're grounded for a week" she slammed my door, I was rather surprised by my punishment as I was used to a month.
