I waited 20 minutes, and Luke still didn't show up. I was beginning to get extremely worried that I started crying in the closet.

This is what happened.

This is how it started. A closet. An almost empty room. And a phone call.

All I could think about was John. I heard his muffled screams of pain and their evil, booming laughter each time they hit him.

I couldn't run. There was no way I could've left him alone there to suffer when his first instinct was to protect me, instead of himself

I made a decision to hide in the nearest closet there was, in an empty room woth gray walls right beside the room John was in. But there was a little hole which enabled me to see and hear clearly without being noticed.

"You are so fucking stupid Tanner!" they yelled at him, slapping his already bruised and batteres face with a chair.

He yelled out in pain and I whimpered, tears falling from my eyes as this unfolds before me.

"You think you could protect her? Keep her future in tact? Help her escape?" the man lets out a low, humourless chuckle and hits him with the chair again.

"Isabella will never be safe."

This seems to trigger something in John, and he spits in the man's face.

Aggrivated, he hits him one more time before pulling a gun out and doing the unimagineable. He shot him.

I started running. Running so fast I didn't even care if one of the men heard me, but it's just my luck that one of them actually did.

"Isabella, it's you baby."

Shoving the scary thoughts away, I called Luke again, unable 5o stay in this closet without thinking of John for much longer and he picked up within two seconds, laughing so hard, I was confused.

I shushed him as quietly as I could and said "Are you near?"

His booming laughted stopped and he replied with "You're actually the biggest fucking idiot in the face of the earth."

I cringe when I hear the seriousness in his voice. "What are you saying?"

"No one lives in that dorm." he flatly states "I don't know what kind of drugs you were on when you called, but of all people you could have asked for help, really? Me?"

And there it was again, the humourless, low chuckle that scared me more than anything else did.

"We're not friends. We never will be. So do yourself a favour and don't act like we are."

And he hung up

And the line went dead.
