Ari flinched slightly as Jaden gently picked him up, watery dark brown eyes staring down at him in misery.
"I'm Sorry." He whispered, barely loud enough for his blue cat ears to hear. Jaden took off his Silfer jacket and covered the wound with it, trying to stop the bleeding. "I'm sorry.. I'm so so sorry."
Ari merely smiled and with a shaky hand, gently cup Jadens cheek. "You are my sunshine, my only sunshine.. You make me happy... When skies are grey."
Jaden's eyes filled with more tears as Ari sang as the elder male kept singing. Though for whose benefit, the Silfer red student would never know. Slightly putting more pressure on the wound, he listened to Ari's song and tried to relax. Though however hard he tried, he couldn't stop his tears.
"You never know dear, how much I love you... Please dont take my sunshine away..."
The singing stopped for a moment, making Jaden worry about whether or not he.... Shaking his head slightly, Jaden hoped he would continue... As it would mean he were still alive and with him. As he looked closer, Jaden realized with relief, Ari was confused on how to continue the song and was staring up at the sky with said emotion sparkling in his mismatched eyes.
"The other night dear, as I lay sleeping.... I dreamt I held you in my arms. When I awoke dear, I was mistaken." Jaden's voice took over, making his older brother start then hiss with pain. "So I hung my head and cried."
The two sung together, one weaker than the other. "You are my sunshine, my only sunshine.. You make me happy, when skies are grey. You never know dear, how much I love you. Please dont take my sunshine away."
Ari took in a deep shuddering breath, "I'll always love you..... and make you..... Happy.... If you will only....... Say the same."
"But if you leave me to love another, you'll regret it all one day." Jaden buried his face into his brother's neck and held him close, keeping the pressure on the stab wound. He felt Ari's hand run through his hair, like he did on nights where Jaden's nightmares were too much. Before their days at the school. Before all of this happened. He couldn't help but let out a choked laugh.
The hybrid looked as if he wanted to sleep, but Jaden quietly urged him to continue. "You are my sunshine...... My only sun...shine.... You make me happy.... When Skies are grey.... You'll never know dear... How much I love you... Please dont take my sunshine.... away...."
Jaden's heart stopped when Ari's voice died off with the song... He'd been one verse away from finishing... And he could've gotten help he could've done something..... Looking into his hetero-chromatic eyes, Jaden realized they were glazed over and staring blankly into the space above him.
Wailing, the Silfer red student held the body of the only family he had left close to his chest. He was the only one who'd been there through everything he'd face without wavering. "No. No.. No. No!"
He couldn't breathe, but he muttered out one last pathetic line. "Please dont take... My sunshine... Away...."
