Chapter Ten

|At The Hospital|
|Benny and Baron|

Benny's Pov:

We all sat around the ER waiting area, hoping to hear word on Miley's condition. Roman had gone back with her and had been gone over an hour. I sat beside Baron with my head on his shoulder crying softly. Roxy had her head buried in Dean's chest and was sobbing. "I wish Roman would come out and tell us something, anything!" I said as Mom and Shawn came in. Shawn was carrying RJ's car seat.

"Have you heard anything at all?" Mom asked as she hugged us all. "Not yet," Dean said, "Roman's back there with her." Shawn set the car seat between Roxy and me then sat down with his head in his hands. Mom sat beside him with her arms around him. "He held it together until we pulled Into the parking lot," she said.

"The last time I sat in a hospital room," Shawn spoke up, "was when Mia, Miley's mother, died. She was so young, only 30. Miley was 10 when Mia died." "Wow," Baron said sadly. "Sitting here now I'm remembering what happened that day, how I had to go back home and tell Miley that her mom had died," Shawn said.

Suddenly the door opened and Gabby walked in and headed straight for us. "I-is Miley ok?" she asked softly and something just snapped inside me. "Why do you care?!" I yelled at Gabby getting in her face. "It's your fucking fault that Miley's here!" I shoved her roughly. "Benny! Stop!! This isn't the time or place for that," Mom said and Baron forced me to sit back down.

A few minutes later Roman walked slowly out of the ER. He didn't even acknowledge Gabby as he looked at us. His face was streaked with tears. "M-Miley is in a coma......from blood loss. And......she was four weeks pregnant," he said swallowing hard. "Was?" I said. "Yes was. She lost the baby. She doesn't know yet," Roman said.

"Oh no!" I heard Gabby say and Roman looked straight at her. Dean and Baron stood behind him to head off any fight. "How dare you come here," Roman said slowly walking towards Gabby. "Roman please......I'm sorry!" Gabby begged backing away from him. Roman shook his head. "No Gabby......don't you dare. Don't you DARE say sorry to me!!! This jealousy thing has gone long enough!!! I want you to STAY AWAY from me Miley and RJ!!! You EVER come near us again and I'll have no choice but to have you arrested for attempted murder!"

Baron's Pov:

My eyes widened when I heard Roman say that to Gabby. Dean looked at me and I shook my head. "It's like he's snapped," I whispered to Dean who nodded. "Roman," I heard Shawn say and watched as he put a hand on Roman's shoulder, "you don't mean that. You're speaking through your emotions. You really don't mean what you just said to Gabby do you?"

Roman looked at Shawn. "You're right I don't. I just snapped......and spoke out of anger.....," he said sighing. He looked over at Gabby. "Gabby look...... I'm----," Roman began but Gabby held up her hand. "No Roman you were right......this shit between me and Miley has to stop," she said, "and I know that I caused her to lose the baby. Roman please find it in your heart to accept my apology."

We all looked at Roman waiting for his answer. He blew out a breath. "Gabby I wish I could accept it but please understand when I say that I can't. You've made my life and Miley's life a living hell. And the doll was the straw that broke the camel's back," he said and Gabby looked at him funny. "Doll? What doll?" she asked. "You sent me and Miley a decapitated tan colored baby doll," Roman said slowly.

"No I didn't! I'd never hurt RJ or stoop that low!" Gabby said and we all looked at her. "If you didn't then who did?" Dean asked. Roman frowned. "I have a hunch. Call me crazy but what if one of Miley's exs sent it?" he said. Benny and Roxy looked at each other. "The only one I can think of is Troy," Roxy said.

"Or maybe Zac," Roxy said naming Miley's first boyfriend. "Shit I hadn't thought about him for a long time! He dropped out didn't he?" Roman said. "Yeah after sophomore year. He went into the Army and got seriously injured in a helicopter crash," I said. "That's right he lost his left arm in the crash," Benny said.

"I have a feeling it's Troy. He was really pissed when Miley chose you over him," I said to Roman. "Yeah I know," Roman said just as a nurse came out. "Roman? I'm here to take you to Miley's room. Your friends can see her tomorrow," she said. Shawn stood up. "Trinity and I get to go too. Along with Benny," he stated. The nurse nodded and the five of us followed her.

The nurse brought us to Miley's room then left. Roman led us in and I heard Trinity and Benny gasp in shock. Miley laid as still as death in the bed. Monitors beeped all around her. "My baby girl," Shawn said his voice cracking on the last word. He held her hand as he brushed hair out of her eyes. "She's a fighter Shawn she'll make it through this," Trinity said to him as she stood beside him.

I looked at Miley as I held Benny close. I didn't want to lose her; she wasn't only my friend but I loved her like a sister. "Come on Miley please wake up," I said softly. I heard a soft moan come from Miley's mouth as I said this.
