JiNayeon- Not You

"Nayeon, when are you gonna get over him? He's not even that good looking," Mina asked, noticing Nayeon staring off at the person she liked. Kim Seokjin. The guy who showed mixed emotions and was always up for a debate. He knew Nayeon, he just didn't know anything about her heart. He thought of Nayeon as a friend. But to him, everyone he talked to about anything was his friend. Even if they had only talked once to ask about homework. Seokjin was incredibly good looking but that wasn't why Nayeon had fell for him. 

"Mina, that's not it! I like him because of his personality. He's funny and cute and totally my type." Nayeon whined. 

"Does he show any interest in you?" Mina asked. 

"Well, I see him looking at me every once in a while. We talk." Nayeon said, only pointing out what she saw. 

"Well he does that to everyone. Look, he'll do that to me too. Does that mean he's interested in me too?" Mina asked, trying to get her friend logically thinking. 

"No...but i wish he knew." Nayeon sighed. 

"He knew what?" A voice asked as it came down sitting down on the ground near Nayeon's desk.

"N-nothing." Nayeon stammered but then regained her confidence. "Why are you here?" She asked. 

"I'm here to ask you something." Jin said to Nayeon. Nayeon's heart began racing faster. Was this it? Would he confess? Would they become a couple? Would life be working in Nayeon's favor?

"Do you like someone?" He asked. Nayeon widened her eyes questioning whether Jin found out that Nayeon liked him. So she lied. 

"No. Why?" Nayeon replied. 

"No reason." Jin said and he got up and walked away. Mina looked at Nayeon. 

"What was that all about? You could have said yes and confessed and gone on a date and what not." Mina pointed out. 

"What if he doesn't like me like that?" Nayeon asked. 

"You wouldn't know until you asked." Mina shrugged. 

Nayeon looked at Jin and his table mates who were chuckling to themselves. The bell rang and Mina and Nayeon headed to the main entrance to go home. Mina's parents were already outside so Mina left leaving Nayeon alone. She went on her phone and waited for her ride to come when someone tapped her shoulder. It was Namjoon, Jin's close friend. Jin was nearby watching them. 

"Hi, I'm Kim Namjoon. I was wondering if you'd like to go on a date with me." Namjoon asked, without hesitation. 

so that's why he asked. 

"I-I really appreciate your offer, b-but I l-like someone else." Nayeon said. She saw Jin's eyes widen as Namjoon smiled at Nayeon. 

"Oh i'm sorry, I hope you and the person you like are happy." Namjoon said, hurt inside but not showing it. Nayeon bowed to Namjoon and he bowed back before going outside. Jin went to the door to follow but then stopped at Nayeon. Now there was nobody in the lobby area. Jin walked towards Nayeon and Nayeon stepped back until reaching the brick wall. 

"You lied to him! Why'd you lie to him? Was Namjoon that ugly that you had to lie. Because I think he's pretty good looking!" Jin asked, anger rising throughout his body.
