With the help of Queen Haleth and Fauchreve, we finally managed to pry Aubree off of 'her new baby', 'Mare. The poor unfortunate male was currently sitting in a chair leaning away from the overenthusiastic female. I could only look at the male with pity. I'd been on the recieving end of the jester's tackle hugs too many times to count and knew exactly how strong they could be. Bree huffed, tapping her foot,
"Where are those boys? I raised them better than this! They're late! When they get here there will be a reckoning to deal with." I tilted my head to the side,
"Why do you keep saying that? Come to think of it, earlier you where calling them 'Your babies. Why is that?" Bree beamed,
"Because I adopted them and helped raise them, of course." She leaned in closer to me, almost like she was about to tell me a secret. "When we said we laid claim on the groups of our choice, we mean different things by that."
Haleth reached over and laid a comforting hand on my knee. She leans forward, looking straight into my eyes. The queen's own chocolate orbits holding a gentle fondness in them,
"Let me try explaining. Remember when we were discussing which groups we were close to." I nodded and the queen continued, "Each of us are connected to our groups in a different way. Aubree is a mother figure to Lutz, Luciano, Kuro, the rest of the Axis Powers. Krystal is the darling of the Nordics. Poor, poor Gilen is like a sweet younger brother to us all. And for me," the personification chuckles, "The F.A.C.E brothers are very dear to me indeed, and the Baltics are like family to me. Not exactly children, but not siblings either." She gained a faraway look in her eyes. "It's difficult to explain..." I shook my head,
"No, I get what you're trying to say. Each of you have a different bond, some parental, some familial, and others romantic." The queen and her jester grinned,
"Yes, that's exactly how it is. I'm glad you understand, not many do." The queen seemed relieved that I was so understanding. A sudden squealing noise had my head whipping towards the source and my hand(s) reaching for my weapon. It was Fauchreve. The young demon had launched himself out of his chair, and was clinging to Haleth. He was being so unnaturally quiet, that I had forgotten he was even in the room.
"What about me, Bella? What do I mean to you?" The queenly personification looked down at the demon that was currently clinging to her,
"You are also very dear to me, Fauchreve." I watched as she stroked his head, calming the demon slightly.
I caught a hint of movement in the corner of my eye, and turned to identify it. 'Mare was busy giving his eyes a tour of his brain. And Aubree......
I rocketed out of my chair in a heartbeat, my eyes darting around the room. The Jester was nowhere to be seen, and the door leading out to the hallway was ajar.
"Ummm, your Majesty." The three, who were still in the room, turned to look at me. "Aubree's gone, and Lady Krystal hasn't returned yet. We should probably go find them-"
The Queen raised a pale slender hand, putting a stop to the flow of words. Haleth didn't often interrupt people, but when she did it was usually for a good reason.
"Don't worry, my General. When the Nordics come to visit, they usually keep Krystal close at hand. And concerning Aubree-" she smiled, "I think I know exactly where our little Jester is."
