Forever and Always

Chapter 5

BRIANS POV

How could I have said that to her? What's wrong with me? I felt that I neededto run after her. I run out the door hoping I could catch her. I then see her after running about a half block standing in someones arms. Logan! I felt my face burn up in anger.

"Hey! Get away from her!" I yell.

"Hey what's your problem man?" he asks.

"My problem? I want you to stay away from Lilly that's my problem! I heard what you did to Emily!" I say getting closer to his face.

He started to become speechless.

"I. uh. um... How do you know about that?" he asked.

"Just stay away from Lilly!"

"Brian! What the hell has gotten into you! Just leave okay? Your just making everything worse." Lilly steps in.

"You think your so slick huh? Messing with her head!"

"Look man, Lilly obviously doesn't want you hear and i'm not looking for any trouble." Logan explains.

"Fine, I'll leave but if you hurt her. I hurt you." I walk away feeling power in my chest.

LOGAN'S POV

"Jeez, do you know him?" I ask.

"Uh, yeah he's my best friend."

"What happend. You know with Emily?" she asked.

"Nothing he doesn't know what he's talking about." I lie.

I look into her eyes and see that they are still a bit puffy. She smiles and turns away.

"You're so beautiful." I slipped out of my mouth.

She turns around as if I was talking to someone else.

"Who are you talking to?" she asked.

"You," i say confused.

"Oh wow no ones ever told me that before." she says.

"Are you kidding? You should be getting told that eveyday!" I tell her.

She blushes and turns away. I turn her head towards me. I look into her eyes with my hand on her cheek.

"Can I be the person to tell you that everyday?" I ask.

"Sure" she says smiling.

LILLY'S POV

Logan leans in towards my lips and I panick and walk back a couple steps. Ugh what was I doing that was my chance at my first kiss.

"I should get going thanks for everything see you tomorrow." I kiss him on the cheek and walk back to my house.

As I walk in my house I see that no one is home.

"Mom? Trever?" I echo through the house.

I walk over to the bathroom to see my mother her back was turned. She was looking at a crumpled photo of my dad holding me as a baby with Trever holdig his hand beside him. She was crying. I start to well up.

"Mom?" she turns around and saw I was crying.

"Oh sweetie, I didn't mean to upset you." she sniffled.

"Mom? Can I ask you something?" I say with tears running down my cheeks.

"Of course honey anything."

"Why did he leave us?" I say as I break down and cry.

"Oh honey," she walks towards me and holds me in her arms.

"He had problems that he thought would hurt our family in the future." She began to explain.

I pull my face away from her shoulder.

"What problems?" I ask.

" Well your father was a big gambler. It was getting to the point where he didn't want his problem to hurt us so he left us thinking it was for the best."

"BUT IT WASN'T FOR THE BEST IT HURT US EVEN MORE!" I started screaming.

"Look Lilly please calm down," she said crying.

"CALM DOWN HOW COULD YOU HIDE THIS FROM ME! HE HURT ME! I HATE HIM FOR LEAVING!"

"I know I'm sorry." she studders.

"Sorry?! you know I always was wondering why he left if it was my fault? But now I dont want him to come back ever!" I yell.

" Lilly he was a good man!" She explained.

I shake my head. "no he wasn't. "

I ran outside. I kept running until I got to Brian's house. With tears running down my face. I saw him sitting on the steps of his porch. He got up and saw me running towards him.

"Look Lilly I'm sorry I just-"

I ran ito his arms and held him tight. I cried on his shoulder.

"Lilly what's wrong?" he asked.

"Shh, just hold me and don't let me go" I say.
