Oscar found himself walking down the school exit corridor, and out into the quad once again. He saw Noah sitting at a picnic table, looking down, engrossed in his phone. When Oscar reached the table, Noah looked up in delight. He slid his phone into his back pocket, and stood up.

"You ready to go?" He asked. Oscar nodded in response.

They clambered into Noah's car, and within minutes they had arrived at Oscar's red-brick home. The boys entered through the white, wooden front door, and Oscar held a hand up in front of Noah, signaling for him to wait at the threshold.

Oscar ventured further into the living room and felt a nervous jolt when he saw both of his parents sitting on the couch, watching TV together.

"Shit," he whispered to himself, and backed away quietly.

He walked back to where Noah was standing, and said in a hushed voice, "They're both here, but it's fine, c'mon."

Noah happily obliged and followed Oscar.

His mom saw the pair first, and swiftly paused the TV.

"Hey Mom, Dad," Oscar began, "This is my uh, friend, Noah. I'm helping him study, we'll be upstairs," he said quickly.

Jennifer uttered a simple, "Okay, that's fine. Nice to meet you, Noah,"

"Nice to meet you too, Mr. and Mrs. Fleming," Noah said, with a smile.

Before either of them could speak further, Oscar looked at Noah and said, "Let's go."

Once alone in his room, Oscar closed the door behind them. Noah could feel the tension in the air. In an attempt to defuse it, he plopped down onto Oscar's bed and said in a sweet tone "You know something? I am just itching to learn some trigonometry."

"Ha ha, very funny," Oscar said.

Oscar sat down next to the blond and pulled a rather large textbook from his backpack.

"So, where should we start?" he asked.

"I don't get all that sin, cos, tan shit. Could you explain it?"

"Sure," Oscar said, opening the book and starting to flip through it pages. Noah's hand reached down to help him, "I think this is the page," he said.

Allowing his fingertips to linger against Noah's for a little bit longer, Oscar cleared his throat and started, "Okay, so the cosine of an angle is the..."

Some time later the two boys were sat side by sit on the edge of Oscar's bed, with the textbook resting between them. Noah stared down at it intently, while scribbling something down on a piece of paper.

Oscar watched his eyes as they darted back and forth from the book to the paper, almost able to see the gears in his head turning.

Finally Noah dropped the pencil he was holding and held out the paper to Oscar, "Is this right?

Oscar took it from him, looking over the other boy's work.

After a second he finally said, "Yup, congrats you passed," he laughed, picking up the discarded pencil and drawing a big A+ at the top of the page.
