A/N: this song is my religion. Anyone who disagrees will be titled as a blasphemer.

Also, this isn't really about Valentine's Day, but it's sorta romantic. I published a Blaise x Harry Valentine's Day thingy in Harry Potter One Shots if you want to read that

Tom knocked on Harry's door, smoothing the front of his tunic down.

The healer answered with a smile.

"You're up early." He still wore a pair of silk pajamas, hair untidy from sleep.

"I know." The prince replied, "Did my angel rest well?"

"Ah, yes. Is there something you wish to tell me?" Harry motioned for him to come inside and sit.

"Yes." Tom settled on a chair by his desk.

"Oh, your father wrote to me."

"About what?" Harry presented him with the letter.

"Not much. But you do have to go back to the kingdom in a few days. Several guards will be picking you up." Tom felt his heart slowly sink.

"I forgot about that."

"Don't look so gloomy, we have plenty of time."

"No we don't."

"We do. Trust me. Now, you didn't say what you wanted to tell me."

"It's not important." Tom got up from the chair.

"Where are you going?"

"Back to the infirmary." Harry grabbed his forearm gently.

"Did I upset you?" Tom slowly turned to face him.

"No." The healer coaxed him to sit down on his bed. Riddle looked away. "I can't make you fall in love with me two days." Harry began to laugh quietly.

"Oh my dearest Tom, of course you can't. Love doesn't work like that. It's a process, and a rocky one." The prince blinked his tears of frustration away.

"I don't know how you can bear me."

"You're very endearing." Tom hid his face in a pillow.

"I'm worried that I won't be able to live up to your standards. Severus raised the bar too high." Harry tugged the pillow out of his hands.

"Listen to me. Please." He cleared his throat. "Severus's death indefinitely hurt me more than I thought it could, but that doesn't mean I'll never love again. Teach me that it's possible to feel such wonderful emotions again." What Harry said felt so right and so wrong simultaneously.  However, he was reassured his words were true. Severus had wanted him to find another man to love.

Tom took one of Hadrian's hands, pressing it against his cheek. His eyes widened and he pulled the hand away to inspect it.

"Did you lose your ring?" Evans showed him the necklace with the wedding band on it.

"N-no, I'm leaving room for yours." The corners of Tom's lips curled upwards.

"Really? So you want to...?" Harry nodded.

"Yes, you silly prince." Riddle grinned

"May I comment on something?"

"I suppose so."

"You look very beautiful." Harry shyly smiled.

"Goodness, I woke up less than an hour ago."

"That's of no importance. Look away for a moment." Harry covered his eyes without question.

Tom took his wrist in a light hold. He put a small box in Harry's hand.

"Open it."

The healer quickly took its top off, feeling a little nervous.

Inside, there were two rings. Both made of silver with small wings. Harry quickly figured out they were angel wings. The thoughtful gesture would have put a smile on anyone's face.

"They're promise rings." Tom took them both out of the box. He pressed them together and showed it to Harry. "See? They make a heart." It was true: one wing had more of an indent so they aligned perfectly to form a heart.

"They're beautiful." Harry murmured, smiling.

"I had them made a few days ago. You'll wear it?" The healer nodded for his answer. "Wonderful." He slid the ring on, putting his on afterwards.

"You had them made before we even addressed courtship?" Tom smirked.

"It's not like I haven't been thinking of this. You caught my eye right away, but I of course thought you were some angel leading me to the heavens."

"I heard that you were a short-tempered, bitter man. That was very, very inaccurate."

"What kind of man am I then?" Harry thought for a moment.

"You're sweet and surprisingly mischievous."

Tom stared and grinned silently.

"What? Is something wrong?"

"N-no. Just... may I kiss you?" Harry rolled his eyes, but on the inside his heart beat frantically.

He laced his fingers together at the nape of Tom's neck, gradually leaning in until their noses almost touched.

Harry gazed at him, then smiled.

"You're quite handsome up close." He closed his eyes and pressed his lips to Tom's.

The prince was frozen for a few milliseconds, but he recovered quickly and kissed Harry back.

Tom was the first to pull away, not wanting their first real kiss to end up awkwardly long. The healer leaned into the hand that cupped his cheek.

"Was I your first kiss?" Riddle nodded, unable to stop the smile that found its way on to his lips.

"You'll have to forgive my inexperience with things like these."

"Don't worry about that, I can teach you along the way. Now, I simply must get dressed. We may have kissed, but that doesn't mean you get to see me in the nude yet. Would you ever so kindly step out for a moment?"

"Of course." Tom quickly went out into the corridor, still grinning with his cheeks bright red.

He wiped the smile off his face when a group of giggling maids went by, carrying wicker baskets of laundry. The prince waited patiently for Hadrian's door to open, rewarded with the sight of him about five minutes later.

His hair was still fairly messy, but Tom found it cute.

"Breakfast?" Harry asked, toying with the promise ring on his finger.

"I like the sound of that." Evans took his hand, unafraid of being seen, and led him to the kitchen.

A few women were already there gossiping, but the sight of Harry and Tom didn't bother them.

The healer grabbed two apples, tossed them to Tom, and wrapped two fresh pastries in a cheese cloth.

"Good morning ladies." He said in a charming voice before leaving, nudging Tom along.

"Those boys are up to something." One woman said, a wise smile on her weathered face.
