Multiverse Mayhem! (An "Ask the Jons" Spin-off/Companion Book)

Chapter 2 (and the last chapter of this book)

Hello again! It's Thaum! Don't be worried by the title of this chapter! Just wait until the end of the chapter to see what I mean by 'the last chapter'!

"Um...heh... we can explain this!" Nick laughed nervously.  

Standing in the magical library were three people. Well, I suppose there were technically two people, since two of them were the same person.

The two Nicks stared at the woman who had stumbled upon them. She set down the stack of books she was carrying and stared back at them. 

"...you're supposed to be in Bay Town." She said. "At least one of you is. You are Nick, right? This isn't that Dres or Dick or whatever his name was that Uni told me about."

"Uhhhhh....no?" The Nick with the sword replied. He nudged our Nick and whispered into his ear. "How does she know who we are?"

Our Nick sighed. "Well obviously there must be another Nick in this universe who knows her. Have you still not come to terms with the fact that in almost every universe we go to, there will be more of us?"

"Hey! This is still all pretty new to me! I didn't even know there were any other dimensions asides from the nether and the end before you showed up!"

"Ahem...?" The rainbow haired girl glared at the two Nicks. "Now are you the real Nick or not? I swear it better not be one of you books doing this!" She angrily pointed at the bookshelf, much to the confusion of the two Nicks. "Is it you Wanda? Did you duplicate Nick? Filbert? I swear to god if it was Dorothy again, I'm going to be pissed!"

While this lady yelled at her books, the Nick with the sword noticed that the book he had grabbed was glowing once again. He flipped it open to find more new messages written inside.

@2kae217 : Hey Bane! Long time no see!

@CrystalNoteSkies : You guys found Bane! She knows the library very well, she could probably help you guys out!

@emberflamez : It's good that you guys have run into Bane, she might be able to help you out of here, though I'd recommend trying not to agitate her, this library contains a lot of books with a lot of powerful spells and you would not want the keeper of those spells getting angry with you.

"...Bane." He said looking up from the book. "Your name is Bane, right? You're in charge of this library?"

She paused. "Why...you are correct. Both about my name and the fact that I own this lighthouse." Bane said looking up at the Nicks. "I'm still confused; you are Nick and you know my name, but you don't seem to remember who I am."

"This is a lighthouse?" Our Nick asked. "Never mind that, how do you know who she is? There wasn't anyone in your universe other than you."

"The book I found told me!" The other Nick said, holding it up for the others to see.

Bane's eyes widened. "Is that the Asker book?" she asked grabbing it from Nicks hands. "This book has been blank for years! I just thought it was an ordinary journal or something!"

She handed flipped through the pages and handed the book back to the other Nick. "So are you two going to tell me who you are or not?"

"Well you are right, our names are both Nick." Our Nick began. "We aren't your Nick however. I'm the Nick from dimension #17C-N&J and he is from dimension #19-FTB. We came here using our fishing rod, but it seems like we may be stuck here for awhile."

"#17C-what? That's a mouthful to say! Don't you have names other than Nick?" Bane asked.

"I mean..... not really. Nickolas I guess, but that's just the long form of every Nick's name." Our Nick responded. "Look, just call me Nick and him #19. It'll be way simpler."
