Chapter 5: His Sacrifice

Levi's POV

Hearing the entrance open, I stood up and waited for them to come in. Whoever they are...

In my surprise, police, a dozen of them, were now standing right infront of me with their guns pointed upwards. I stood there with a normal, cold expression in my face.

"Hands up.", they said. I put my hands up, trying to say that I won't fight. "You're Levi right?", they continued.

"What kind of police are you fools. You don't know what a kid looks like when his face is in a poster you made?! You make a big fool out of yourselves.", I replied.

The police seemed a bit nervous. "A-are you a street rat now Sir Ackerman?"

I smirked. "Only depends on what you think I am."

They walked over to me with guns pointed down. They took me by the arm. "C'mon kid let's g---"

As a police touch me, I took out the hidden knife at my sleeve and made a cut at his arm.

"Ow!", he yelled.

"Shush.", I said with a stern look. "You're gonna wake them up."

They all stared confusedly. We heard footsteps nearby. Looking at where the sound is coming from, I saw Erwin with his siblings. That police's scream probbly woke them up. I looked at the police.

"Look what you've done. You woke them up. I told you to shush didn't I?"

Walking to them slowly, they pointed guns at me.

"Oh what's this? Police killing a child? Hm that doesn't seem right."

"S-stay where you are!"

"Okay."

I stopped walking then I put my hands up, revealing a few more knives hidden at my sleeves and threw it near them.

They stood still. Then one police made a deal with me.

"If you'll come with us, we'll leave the Jeager kids alone."

"Why the hell should I trust you?"

"We mean it!"

"Hm. What will you do to me?"

"Bring you back home and. Uh... help us."

"In what?"

"Capturing street rats?"

"Tsk.. Deal off."

"What why?!"

"You're talking to a street rat. Not a fool."

"...."

We were staring at each other for a long time. They were thinking of a way to convince me.

Finally, they looked at me with a smile.

"If we break the promise.... We'll let you destroy us."

"Fools indeed.."

"Please? For the sake of everyone?"

"Tch. Fine... But keep your words.."

"We will."

Walking towards them, I had my calm dead stare look. Turning my head to the side to take a glance at Erwin and the others, I muttered a few words the continued walking away with the police, having my hands in handcuffs.

It was uncomfortable to move with this annoying chains behind you, not even able to move your hands. As we exit the secret room, I felt the air from outside. It was cold. A cold night...

Erwin's POV

As they walked out, it was plain silence. Like no one knows what the hell just happened.

Silence has enwrapped the room...

Eren broke the quiet surrounding.

"Where are they taking Levi bro?"

"Uh probably in a---"

"I don't want them to take him!!"

"Look Eren---"

"Bro Levi told me that he still have to do his job to protect us until the end. They can't take him! They can't!!"

Knowing what Levi's goal is has made my heart start to go soft. He really made his promise then. I felt guilt of how I treated him.

I ran outside to them who were walking away.

"Stop!", I exclaimed. It started to rain hard and the floor was slippery, making me slide to my knees. Looking up, they were there looking at me except for Levi who didn't dare face me.

"Don't take him!", I yelled again.

"What do you want brat?! We already made a deal!"

"But I don't like the deal! He should stay!"

"A deal's a deal brat!"

I tugged hard on the police uniform

A police pushed me hard making me fall down my ass. I looked up.

"Get yourself a self control you brat!", they spat.

I saw Levi look behind him slightly. "Better stay out and stay put here. I wouldn't want your blood iny knife just because pf a punishment.", he muttered out loud.

I gulped at their words. I can Feely heart sinking down inside me. They all focused again up ahead and continued walking away.

He... Did that after all I've done... He showed me respect...
