We had so many wins so far and Zsasz wanted to celebrate being the most powerful couple in Gotham again. "Hey babe." he yelled from the bedroom as I curled my hair. "Yes love?" I cooed. He walked down the hall and leaned on the bathroom doorway, watching me. "Do you want to go on a date? Dinner? A movie?" He shrugged in suggestion. I nodded pleasantly, we hadn't really been out in a while. "What about a shooting range?" I suggested, enthused. He shrugged again but less excited as he was before. "How about shooting range and a nice dinner?" I smiled, "Sounds nice." He nodded and went to get dressed, bringing me a dress and heels to wear.

After the shooting range, we slipped down the sidewalk, people moving to the other side, clearing the way. We walked into his favorite restaurant with no reservation and were immediately seated. Oh Gotham, how I love your loyalty. Everything was going great and food came and it was delicious. We talked over desert and laughed, I continued to rave about how I hit closer targets than Zsasz at the range until his face grew dull and his voice irritated. "Something wrong?" I asked, meeting his eyes. He shook his head. When we were walking back home, I heard someone walking fast behind us. I turned to see a man, reaching in his coat. Zsasz went to pull his gun but I was quicker and pinned the man, shooting him with his own weapon. "You couldn't just let me protect you for a second?" Zsasz said, frustrated, concealing his weapon. "Um, I'm sorry I'm quick on my feet honey." I snapped, walking away from the man.

When we got home Victor hadn't lost his frustration. "Is something wrong Vic?" I asked, throwing my bag and coat on the couch. "Oh no." he said, clearly covering his tone. "Victor tell me. I don't know that I did anything wrong." He shot his head up to look at me, "Oh no, Miss. Badass, you never do anything wrong." I was taken back. "Excuse me?" I was baffled, is he mad I'm back on my top game. "Let's go to the shooting range, let me lead, I got it." He said in a mocking voice. "I'm sorry if I am getting good again and want to defend myself rather than cower and wait for you to handle it." I snapped. "No it's not just that Kate, the shooting range, the attitude, you're not yourself." He said. I was extremely confused. I was myself, my old self, the one he wanted back so badly. "Victor I am myself, I am the me that never left Gotham." He took a breath, "Well maybe I don't wish you were." he said walking away.

I was stunned. What did he just say?!?

I followed him into the bedroom. "Want to elaborate?" I said, clearly pissed. "I was starting to like the new you. The earthy, calm girl. You were becoming the stability I needed. Now she's gone." He said throwing his arms in the air. "It is not my responsibility to be your stability Victor." I scoffed. I was insulted. I was the top hitwoman again in Gotham and he wants me to play house and be the wife that cleans the blood out of his shirt at the end of the day and has dinner on the table. "I spent years in that house, turning into that person. Then you brought me here Victor, you. Not me, I was perfectly fine and you brought me here. Now I turn into who I was, like I said I would and I'm not good enough for you now?" I was yelling. I was pissed and it was making me yell. "Exactly you were gone for years, and you came back a different person and I fell in love with her.  I forgot this version of you, after it took me years to find you." he said, like it was helping his case. It was most certainly not.

"I was ten miles away Victor, you must not have looked too damn hard." I said walking away, leaving him fuming in the bedroom. I grabbed my coat and phone and slammed the door behind me, heading to my apartment for the night. Since this me wasn't good enough for him, he didn't get me at all.
