While starting to read 'Her', I had not half-expected the plot I was going to read. All my assumptions and my expectations of the story had turned out to be false in the best possible way. This story still takes me by surprise every time I re-read it. A single well-written chapter equals the weight of tens of chapters. 'Her' stood out among the numerous romance novels or short stories in my library.

The author says
''Her' was actually inspired from one of my friends who had once expressed her jealousy over the relationship me and my father had. It just made me realize for some fathers, not only Indian, their little male biology ego mattered more than their daughters. Never have l seen a father who was comfortable enough to talk about his daughter's social life, about her mental state or just simply ask about her day. I have always seen my dad as some kind of a hero (I even poured some of my father's quality in my character) but I just want him to be my friend and not someone I just idolize from afar.'
