Haytham Point of view
This is the first of many times I am actually thankful to Hickey, he's presented the best solution to earning the trust of the natives. Rescue the slaves imprisoned and the natives would gain our trust and be in our debt, more willingly and compliant. With the use of William maps and calculations it's all sounds promising, I set off with Charles tomorrow to find Benjamin Church. He is the next man I shall solicit and he is very important to our cause, in order for the plan to succeed.
Haytham Kenway journal entry October 3 1754

Haytham: we are here to help you, along with those held inside Southgate Fort
Ziio: Free me
She asked bluntly, her posture was still and her eyes remained forward she refused to look at me.
Haytham: not until we're inside the gate, I can't chance an inspection at the gate going wrong... I'll see you safe you have my word.
I said as I spoke calmly with her, instead I got disgust and doubt all were present on her features as I denied her freedom. If this plan was going to succeed, I cannot risk releasing her before I reached to the other captives held inside the fort.
Haytham: look it's only for awhile, once we pass through the gates, I will let you go.
She turned her head and her eyes away from me, as she rotated her body away from me as far as the wooden bench would allow well she doesn't trust me at all! But I am a man with honour she will soon find out.

Haytham: do you know anything of Silas operations? How many men we might expect? The nature of their defences?
Silence was her response to me, I attempted to engage into a conversation with her again.
Haytham: you must be rather important if you were given your own escort
Once again she was silent, until I saw an arrogant smirk on her lips upwards and her posture moved slightly. She was a troublemaker for sure, and she likes to play dirty but I kept my guard for her safety the most.

Haytham: I wish you could trust us? Though I suppose you might change your mind... so be it.
I turned my attention back to the road, I had to call Hickey and William to eliminate any redcoats who were obstructing the road. Whilst I was examining my captive, her appearance was youthful she was no more than 25 years of age. Also her facial structure was pleasing to the eye as well, full perfect lips, high cheekbones and hazel eyes which glowed with pure beauty. Her hair draped down her front in two long braids, both resting atop her chest, she soon casted a glance at me over her shoulder. I cleared my throat and I could feel my cheeks turn pink by her sudden gaze she was a beauty.

We finally reached to the fort and we bypassed the guard at the gate, without any difficulty and we continued inside the fort.
Haytham: see? I'm freeing you just as I said, now if you would allow me to explain-
The moment I released her from the ropes by my hidden blade, she glanced at me inquisitively before jumping off the cart and running further into the fort. Well I wasn't surprised by her sudden movements. The woman never trusted me in the first place.
Haytham: let her go
As the others weren't pleased of what has happened. Hickey as usual was the first to speak against my judgment.
Hickey: but she'll give us away?
He asked I scanned the area where she ran, she was nothing but a memory now.
Haytham: no she won't
Pitcam: what's the plan?
Haytham: free the captives and avoid detection, any questions gentlemen?
I asked as I looked for the same woman
Benjamin: what's of Silas?
Church wanted revenge Silas would have practically chopped Benjamin to pieces, if me and Charles never made it on time, so I cannot blame him for wanting revenge.
Haytham: he dies

10 minutes later
With the captives set free and Silas was dead by the hands of Benjamin who shot him straight in the skull, I wanted a moment of peace and quiet. I was now leaning against the stone of the walls of the fort, as I observed the natives walking towards to the entrance. But one of them held my eye, it was the same native lady from earlier. She somehow managed to return and assist her people with their escape, she caught my gaze at her and a half smile of arrogance and smirk at me.

I returned her with the same smile but with a shy grin on my face, before she turned her attention back to her people leaving the fort.
Charles: what happens now?
The question interrupted my thoughts about the unnamed native female, I was slightly grateful Charles didn't notice me.
Haytham: we wait though not for very long I suspect
As I was still thinking about the same woman, who I couldn't stop thinking about now.
Charles: well in that case let's us return to the inn, I have no desire to stay in this wreathed place any longer.
Haytham: I agree
As we both left.

Several weeks have passed since we freed the Mohawks prisoners from captivity and their leader had yet to make an appearance. My men grew restless and demanded answers and explanations that I could not provide. Charles remained active, searching for leads hoping to make contact to those we rescued. I still remembered the woman who helped the others, I hoped that once I found her she will give me answers.

I hope you enjoyed it, I plan on publishing more chapters of Haytham and Ziio. They are my favourite Assassins creed couple, the next chapter will be Haytham meeting Ziio again.
