You were waiting in one of the tents in the white fang hideout. Well, a tent you shared with someone, Adam Taurus. The leader of the white fang. You sighed to yourself as you read your book. Too interested into what happens next in the chapter, you don't realize that Adam had walked into the tent, removing his mask in the process.
He doesn't say anything to you. He knows, unlike others not to mess with you. Instead, he just walks quietly to his desk that held all his information on certain Faunus, humans he despises, and other mischievous plans he had up his sleeve.
You had finished a part of the book you've been wanting to get to. You had shut the book quite loud, making Adam jump in surprise. You had gotten up from the bed and placed your book on your shelf that was in the tent. You turned around and face Adam.
Immediately thoughts came coming into your head that you wished didn't happen.
Thoughts that you wished you could have asked. Yet, you were scared of what he might say or do.Adam had gotten you out of your thoughts. "(Y/n) what's wrong? Is something bothering you?"
You didn't say anything. Just walked into the bathroom and shut the door. You looked into the mirror above the sink.
'Who would do that to him?' Was your first thought that came out. You were confused, and honestly hurt. You never really cared for Adam, no. But you were his acquaintance. You both went on missions together, both discussed plans together. You both were basically unstoppable. Yet, tonight something snapped in your mind. You wanted to know more about his past.
You quickly did your business in the bathroom and walked to the king sized bed. Surprisingly, the only thing you wish could change was you sharing the bed. Not going to lie, you didn't exactly dislike sharing a bed with the faunus. Just sometimes you wish you had your own.
Adam came back out again. Looking at you concerned. "We should probably get some sleep. It's getting late."
Agreeing with the male you had laid down on your side of the bed. Snuggling into a ball since it was quite cold out since it was winter. Which, was your least favorite season.
You had both said your goodnights and slowly left sleep take over. You had hoped you wouldn't get woken in the middle of the night. Yet, your hopes had come crashing down when your mind descends into a nightmare.
Watching in terror everything had come crashing down fast. Your best friend, Adam. Had been getting his mark from the Schnee Dust Company. He screamed for help, his blue eyes complete in horror as he slowly watched the hot metal bar come down on his face burning his left eye. Before you could see anything else you had awoken.
You screamed and jolted out of bed. You looked around wondering where you were. You had noticed you were still in the white fang hideout.
Adam woke hearing your scream in terror. He sat up and wrapped his arms around you. "It's okay, it was just a nightmare. Your safe, safe from the dangerous people out in the world." Adam reassured you.
You leaned up against Adam. Feeling comfortable in his arms. You felt a tear move down your cheek. Adam noticed this and removed your tear with his thumb.
"Do you want to talk about it? I think it'll help both of us understand your pain your going through." Adam softly said to you.
You were surprised at Adam's offer. Normally, he'd just shove people off and tell them to figure it out on their own. Yet, this time it felt different. He sounded as if he truly wanted to help you.
"Yes, if you don't mind. I would enjoy talking with you about it..." You closed your eyes and took a deep breath trying to control and ease your mind. Once you had successfully did so, you reopened them to see Adam smiling slightly at you.
Smiling back you had told him your nightmare. "Well, it was a terrible nightmare. This might be hard for me to explain. Anyways, I saw you, Adam. It was the time you were working for the Schnee Dusk Company." You stopped not wanting to say anymore, yet Adam had finished your thought for you.
"It was when I received my mark." Adam placed his left hand on his face. Going over the mark slowly.
You only nodded and got closer to Adam. "I wanted to desperately help you. I really did. But when I heard your scream. I had awoken from my own." You felt Adam lean his chin on your shoulder. Both his arms wrapped around you in a comfortable manner.
"That's right, this is the first time you've seen me without my mask on. That's why you had starred at me for quite a bit before leaving to head to the bathroom." Adam said quietly.
"Yeah... you asked me what was wrong. But I ignored you. I was scared to ask about it. Knowing how you took things personal. I didn't want to mettle in with your personal life." You explained while closing your eyes relaxing.
Adam was quiet for a moment. You thought he had fallen asleep in your arms. Yet, he was just doing what you were doing. Relaxing.
It was a different side to him that you thought you'd never see. Despite being the cold hearted man you thought he always was. He did indeed have a soft side. Unlike most people, where they have a soft side, and you'll never want to see their bad. It was quite opposite for Adam.
Adam broke the silence. "Yeah, I had gotten branded by the Schnee Dust Company... because I wasn't one hundred percent human." He took a deep breath remembering the past.
You looked at him. "If you don't want to talk about it. It's alright. I understand how much it pains you to remember something that was completely wrong and horrible."
Adam opened his eyes to look at you. "Thanks, I'm glad I have someone like you that can understand my pain. If you ever want to know more about me. Feel free to ask, yeah I may be a cold man. But I always have a soft side for you."
This made you blush at his words. "Oh, alright then." You smiled at him, as he returned it, you said something that you would never take back. "Your an amazing man Adam. I'm glad I have you in my life."
It was his turn to blush. "Thanks (y/n), I'm glad some people aren't afraid of me." He smiled slightly and looked at his scroll. Forgetting to turn down the brightness it made him growl cause of the pain in his eye as he wasn't expecting the sudden brightness. "It's almost midnight. We should get some sleep." He closed his scroll and placed it back onto the desk that was right next to the bed.
You agreed and you had both laid down. Comfortable in each other's arms. You felt grateful that he had talked to you. As you had a peaceful night with Adam comforting you.
