"Boy with the retarded hairdo say what?"
Adam glared at Jess as he subconsciously raked his slim fingers through his tousled, messy hair again. Jess stared wide eyed at Adam when Cain leaned in on him and slung his arm around his neck and over his shoulder; pressing himself onto Jess so hard that he eliminated any space between them. Resting his chin on Jess' shoulder blade, Cain snorted,
"Really, Jess? Retarded hairdo? That's the best you can come up with?"
Cain mused, a smile tugging on his lips as he shifted his focus towards an irritated Adam.
"My hair isn't retarded, and what I said was that Cutie here, and I, live right across each other."
Adam interrupted, shrugging it off as Jess pouted and crossed his arms in a childish way,
"Now, that's not fair."
"Life isn't fair."
"Yeah, but you don't need to rub it in!"
countered Jess, his eyes screaming determination in beating Adam,
"Well, you guys asked. All I did was answer your questions."
"But-!"
he paused, trying to think of what to say,
"But! ...Ugh, I give up."
he groaned, flicking his eyes back to Cain. He glared at Adam for a brief second with Cain still hanging off his body, nearly dying of laughter with the argument between the two,
"How come you get to live next to her, and I don't?"
Jess asked, clearly not letting the subject go.
"Because, dear Jess, I just do."
Adam shot me a wink, causing me to fake a gag. He made a face; a face which I mimicked oh so accurately and gained a laugh from Justin who watched the whole thing with laid back ease. Adam rolled his eyes at the gesture and sighed before clapping his hands together, snapping all of us out of that weird trance,
"Okay, now instead of interrogating me and getting jealous over who lives next to Cutie, why don't we get 'serious' and actually practice like we were supposed to? After all, I totally didn't just drag this bum out of her apartment for no reason,"
I shot him a glare, but he brushed it off pretending he didn't see it. I was about to open my mouth and say, 'Who you calling a bum?' when Justin came into the picture and stopped me just in time. He nodded at Adam while patting Jess on the shoulder,
"Come on lover boy, let's get ready."
Cain frowned and pried himself from Jess' body only to drag himself back to his guitar. Reluctantly, Jess followed with his shoulders slumped and his back hunched from disappointment.
"Fineeeee."
He drawled, walking over to his drum set and plopping down into his seat with his drum sticks in hand,
"Woah, guys wait. What song am I supposed to sing? We never talked about this, have we?"
Cain froze and thought about it for a minute while rubbing his chin; lost in a thought when he jumped and snapped his fingers in finding a solution,
"Well what song do you have in mind?"
Biting my lip, I squirmed in my spot with the thought of a really girly song playing in my head.
"Um..."
I peeked over at the guys who watched me with blank expressions,
"Do you know how to play the song, The One That Got Away, by Katy Perry?"
