"That's right. Let's have a sleepover."
I stared at him in silence.
And stared.
Then continued staring.
"No way in hell."
I said simply -with a pretty straight face, if I may add-, turning on my heel when I felt Adam grab my wrist. He twirled me around so that I was now facing him, yet he didn't let go of me even after I looked up. He gave me a dry look as if dreading our conversation, before sucking in an exhausted breath and pressing his lips in a pout,
"Seriously Cutie, what are you going to do? You locked yourself out of your own apartment and have no where else to go. And here I am, your most generous, kind, handsome neighbor willing to take you in for a night. And may I add that I'm also your band mate? This has to be the nicest thing I ever considered doing for another person."
I glared at him, even though I knew what he said was a hundred percent true but decided not to show it. I mean, think about it. A girl and a guy who barely know each other spending a night together alone in an apartment? Yeah, I may not be an Einstein but even I know that's a risky situation. But if only what Cain said about Adam swinging the other way was true, I would've been perfectly fine with it. But he doesn't play for the other team, so there's not a chance that this idea will ever work out without having complications, mix ups and most likely arguments. Believe me when I say that I'd be the one to bring up the arguments.
"Well in that case, thank you for your gracious offer my 'generous, kind and handsome' neighbor, but I think I'll just go to a hotel or something."
"A hotel? At this time? Come on, you can't possibly be that against staying in an apartment with me."
I gave him a look, tilting my head to the side and folded my arms across my chest,
"Actually, I am."
I knew I was being pretty stubborn, but you can't exactly blame me. A look of surprise registered on his face but finally he sighed, running a hand through his hair.
"Fine, just tell me how you're going to book a hotel here. This is Manhattan for crying out loud, hotels cost a fortune here. Why waste money on that for one night? Come on, I live right across from you. It's the best option you got."
I continued glaring at Adam until he sighed muttering a string of curse words under his breath,
"Okay, okay. How about this, you sleep in my room and I'll stay in the living room. Is that okay with you?"
I stared at him while chewing on my gums hesitantly. I don't know... He does have a point, but still it makes one wonder why he's being especially nice to me. I watched as Adam swiped out his phone and type something before he looked back up to me,
"So?"
I groaned mentally and walked towards his apartment,
"First of all, tell me. Why are you so fixed on getting me to stay with you?"
It went silent. Adam's eyes widened as the words sunk in. I guess he really wasn't expecting a question like that as he just stared blankly at me.
"I don't know."
He said finally.
"I guess I just got pretty attached to you way too quickly. After all, you saved our ass just by being here."
He smiled sweetly at me, before shrugging in a carefree way,
"I don't suppose you have a problem with that, do you?"
